First of all thank you for your insightful reply. I am probably not enough up to on the info and if you could shed some additional light on the subject I will appreciate it. What about Russia’s claim about the interference by the US in he elections in 2014? Also about the continuous harassments of the ethnic Russian population in the eastern part of Ukraine? What about the encroachment of NATO along with the US along its border, with the possibility of installation of aggressive weapons, very similar if Russia would come to an arrangement with Mexico and do the same, would the US tolerate it?

“Why bother? No one reads your propaganda anyway. I just stop by your trash postings to see others take jabs at you.”

However, I try to research and share information that may not have been available for someone else.

Some people make false statements as a revenge tactic or power play. However, you are perfectly entitled to Freedom of thought and expression.

You bring to mind the quote of Soren Kierkegaard:
“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”
Or, Tertullian: “The first reaction to truth is hatred.”

Regardless, if posting this comment makes you feel better then it’s all good for me. :)

“All Russia has to do to save their lives is admit their presence in Ukraine is in flagrant violation of UN+Helsinki+Belovezha+Budapest+Minsk principles AND binding treaties, their presence is fuelling the war AND dragging other countries into the conflict... and that conflict Will Not End until Russia brings them home.

[SNIP]

It really is that simple. If you don’t stick to the principles, you cannot avoid being either the instigator of an invasion or a treaty trapped party to the defence of an invaded country.”

ONCE AGAIN EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT COMMENT!
Thank you

You’re right. It is very sad, and dangerous.

However, the “noble lie” must continue for the vulgar who need to be told what to believe, so the deception will continue.

God’s will be done.

“Putin and Russia have their war manufacturing running 24/7 with next door logistics support. The west can't keep up.”

Of course we can keep up. The Russians are basically a bunch of idiots corrupt and very incompetent. Many of their weapons actually blow upon usage. We have a much bigger economy, a far better technology and more people. So c’mon about us not being able to keep up.

It is incumbent upon the accuser or upon the entity making a claim to provide evidence and arguments to support any such accusation or claim.

What evidence and/or logical, evidence-based arguments has Russia provided to support any such accusation? Have you absorbed and analyzed Russia's arguments? Have you found them believable / plausible? If so: WHY?

Oh, wait: You have already admitted that you "aren't up enough" on the subject, so you would do best to refrain from already adopting a position that is not knowledge-based.

Also about the continuous harassments of the ethnic Russian population in the eastern part of Ukraine?

Ditto. What objective and credible evidence of "harassment" has Russia provided, and how does that - if true - justify Russia's invasion and seizure of vast swaths of Ukrainian territory?

What about the encroachment of NATO along with the US along its border, with the possibility of installation of aggressive weapons, very similar if Russia would come to an arrangement with Mexico and do the same, would the US tolerate it?

Your characterization of the voluntary accession of free democracies to NATO as "encroachment" constitutes "loaded language." Further, the analogy of Mexico joining the Warsaw Pact (or some modern-day equivalent) is absurd and laughable, and I am unwilling to entertain such a preposterous question.

Regards,

Actually, Russia has the current Nazi problem.

HELPFUL FACTS:

“The surprise German invasion of the U.S.S.R. began on June 22, 1941. The Soviets, during their hasty retreat, shot their political prisoners and, whenever possible, evacuated personnel, dismantled and removed industrial plants, and conducted a scorched-earth policy—blowing up buildings and installations, destroying crops and food reserves, and flooding mines. Almost four million people were evacuated east of the Urals for the duration of the war.

The Germans moved swiftly, however, and by the end of November VIRTUALLY ALL OF UKRAINE WAS UNDER NAZI CONTROL.
There had long been a widespread belief that Germany, as the avowed enemy of Poland and the U.S.S.R., was the Ukrainians’ natural ally for the attainment of their independence.

The illusion was quickly shattered.

In the occupied territories, the Nazis sought to implement their “racial” policies. In the fall of 1941 began the mass killings of Jews that continued through 1944. An estimated 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews perished.

NOTE: Ukraine rates the 4th in the number of people recognized as “Righteous Among the Nations” for saving Jews during the Holocaust.

The history of the Jews in Ukraine goes back over a thousand years. Jewish communities have existed in the territory of Ukraine from the time of the Kievan Rus’ (late 9th to mid-13th century).

Some of the most important Jewish religious and cultural movements, from Hasidism to Zionism, rose either fully or to an extensive degree in the territory of modern Ukraine.

According to the World Jewish Congress, the Jewish community in Ukraine constitutes the third-largest in Europe and the fifth-largest in the world.

In the Ukrainian People’s Republic (1917-1920), Yiddish was declared a state language, along with Ukrainian and Russian. At that time, the Jewish National Union was created and the community was granted an autonomous status.

Yiddish was used on Ukrainian currency in this same period, between 1917 and 1920. Before World War II, slightly less than one-third of Ukraine’s urban population consisted of Jews; they were the largest national minority in Ukraine.

Sure, no worries.

What about Russia’s claim about the interference by the US in he elections in 2014?

Russia's claim about interference in 2014 is PARTIALLY true. Nuland did indeed interfere in the elections. But no more than Putin himself had done in two Republics only a few months earlier! Don't take Western propaganda's word for it; the ruddy Kremlin posted despatches on both occasions. http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/19051 and http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/19049

Sure, so the guy who hand-picked two Presidents of other Republics only a few months earlier (and his own website confirms it!), complained that America did it once. That's ocean-going, intergalactic levels of hypocrisy, folks. But what do you expect from a country that's been firing depleted uranium munitions at Ukrainians for months and is suddenly butt-hurt at the idea of DU munitions (that haven't even arrived in Ukraine yet) being made available to Ukraine? Russia does two things well - it lies, and it barefacedly does nasty stuff BEFORE complaining about someone else doing it.

Also about the continuous harassments of the ethnic Russian population in the eastern part of Ukraine?

The DNR Ombudsman is the DPR and Russia's own human rights ombudsman. Based out of the FSB building based in Donetsk (Easy to check - look up the address on their site, and compare it to who else is in that building via other web sources), it published annual reports on the civilian deaths in conflict. Direct link to the document AND PAGE here - right click on it to open in a new window. The salient text from it is,

"Since 1 January 2020, as a result of the armed conflict in the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, 44 people have been killed (Diagram 6)."

I'm sure you would agree that only 44 deaths in an area that big over an entire calendar year falls a long way short of proving the "continuous harassments" allegation. And in 2020, and 2021, the numbers were even lower than that. The DNR is actually far more honest than either the Kremlin OR the Putinards in the USA, because in their 2020 report they explained it - although civilian casualties in Ukraine were very high in 2014 and 2015, they were not as high in 2017, and were even lower by 2019.

"tthe number of deaths among the residents of the Donetsk People's Republic decreased by 9 times in 2017 compared to 2014, in 2019 almost by 17 times, in 2020 by 50 times.

Instead, you have to read their report on the five days between 25th and 30th December 2021/  with a fine toothed comb to find this throwaway reference to civilian casualties for the full year.

"Within the period between 1 January and 30 December 2021, in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, 129 people sustained injuries and traumas of varying severities as a result of armed aggression by Ukraine: 97 servicemen of the Republic and 32 civilians. "

When even the DPR's own monitor of civilian casualties in the Donbas, that published its reports to Moscow via the FSB office on the very next floor of the same building tells you in effect that Pushilin and Putin and Medvedev and Lavrov really have been telling the most outrageous "it was THIS big" fishing level whoppers to justify their invasion, it's time to start treating Russia's claims with a pinch of salt - if Putin and co have any proof at all that their own ombudsman is understating the casualty rates, then why the hell don't they publish it?

What about the encroachment of NATO along with the US along its border, with the possibility of installation of aggressive weapons, very similar if Russia would come to an arrangement with Mexico and do the same, would the US tolerate it?

I've answered this before. It's a false analogy. To actually be a decent analogy, you'd have to pick a dirt poor country a fraction of the size of the USA, with next to no military capability- Cuba instead of Mexico. And then, to make the status quo of NATO and its Soviet comparison stick, you'd have to pretend that you knew Mexico had been in the CIS and CSTO for 20 years without once provoking an incident." The very distant possibility of a country linstalling offensive weapons several years from now is completely frickin' irrelevant, when you've got a country (or several of them!) on your border that are already a member of the exact same alliance you're complaining about, and NONE of them has ever threatened you enough to tool up for a land invasion.

Russia is riddled with hypocrisy and disingenuousness that our resident Putinistas strive officiously to ignore.

Russia's interference led to Euromaidan, which led to Azarov's government collapsing, which led to Yanukovych being forced (under the Ukrainian constitiution) to order fresh elections.

Yanukovych knew that he'd be impeached for his part in provoking Euromaidan and the violence that followed, so he fled to Russia and took Russian citizenship.

What you'll never get from the Putinistas here is a simple answer to a very simple question: if any US President sold the USA out explicitly after being compromised by an enemy of the USA, then fled the USA, then took citizenship of another country hostile to the USA, and FROM THERE tried to enable its military invasion of the USA, would they still be saying that the President who just committed bare faced treason should stay in office and continue to serve out the full remainder of his term even if he is doing it from the land of the enemy while enabling a military invasion of the USA? And if they can't answer such a simple question, why not.

“Here you are again, spreading the evil propaganda of the Atlantic Council demonics. You have no ears to hear, nor eyes to see....

You are entitled to your own opinion not create your own truth.

James 1:22 warns us against deceiving ourselves: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” The self-deception that James has in mind relates to an inappropriate response to truth.
