Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has finally weighed in on the looming indictment and potential arrest of former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis' remarks are quite interesting and worth reading in full.
"So I've seen rumors swirl," DeSantis said. "I have not seen any facts yet, and so I don't know what's gonna happen. But I do know this, the Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor. And so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety."
"He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors," DeSantis continued. "He says he doesn't want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes. And what we've seen in Manhattan is we've seen the crime rate go up and we've seen citizens become less safe."
"And so you're talking about this situation with, and look, I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," he added. "I just, I can't speak to that, but what I can speak to is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star 'hush money' payments, you know, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office.'
"And I think that that's fundamentally wrong," he remarked. "I also think it's important to point out when you're talking about these Soros-funded prosecutors, yes, they may do a high profile politicized prosecution and that's bad. But the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers, ordinary Americans, and all these different jurisdictions that they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda that these Soros DAs bring to their job. They ignore crime and they empower criminals. And that hurts people, hurts a lot of people every single day."
"The Soros district attorneys are a menace to society, and I'm just glad that I'm the only governor in the country that's actually removed one from office during my tenure," he noted.
DeSantis also said that his office won't be involved in a "manufactured crisis" by the Soros DA.
"We won’t be involved in this," he added. "I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA... He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in FL."
Trump supporters have been roasting DeSantis online about remaining silent over the potential arrest of former President Donald Trump. It will be worth watching if they believe that DeSantis spoke out strongly enough against the political prosecution over if they think he took a veiled shot at the former president.

Maybe DeSantis didn’t realize that it was a timed competition. And Pence is a traitorous, dishonest POS...remember? How is that a ‘selling point’?
no selective hearing here: i heard the whole thing - but at the edges he distorted the message by denigrating it to a circus, and doing the political sideswipes with ‘hush money’ and ‘porn star’ making it a political move, not a leader’s statement on the judicial system/Constitution. egads - even Pence did a better job and that’s not a good comparison for DeS. sorry - he flubbed it by not rising above the politics which surprised me because usually his instincts are better than that. this smelled of handlers’ involvement.
Today is Tuesday-by DJT's statement-this is the day he is being arrested. Anybody have a line on the time of Trump's arrest today?

In other words, DJT issued a false proclamation. In all caps. Politically motivated, no doubt, resulting in lots of press coverage and a rush of campaign donations.
Yesterday, DJT knew he wasn't being arrested today, and he went all scorched earth against Governor DeSantis. More dirty politics, resulting in more press coverage and campaign donations.

Costello wasn’t scheduled as grand jury witness last week and apparently grand jury was wrapping up. now there is yet another witness tomorrow also unknown then. looking at NYC preps in the city yesterday- barricades, etc - DJT wasn’t the only entity in the loop. so hardly a political stunt. i mean, really? but things change.
Trump’s proclamation in all caps did not leave any wiggle room for additional witnesses or delays. Thus, it was a false statement.
