BREAKING: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Finally Reacts to Donald Trump's Potential Arrest

"I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA," DeSantis said.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has finally weighed in on the looming indictment and potential arrest of former President Donald Trump.

https://twitter.com/Julio_Rosas11/status/1637828985471086593

DeSantis' remarks are quite interesting and worth reading in full.

"So I've seen rumors swirl," DeSantis said. "I have not seen any facts yet, and so I don't know what's gonna happen. But I do know this, the Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor. And so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety."

"He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors," DeSantis continued. "He says he doesn't want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes. And what we've seen in Manhattan is we've seen the crime rate go up and we've seen citizens become less safe."

"And so you're talking about this situation with, and look, I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," he added. "I just, I can't speak to that, but what I can speak to is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to try to use something about porn star 'hush money' payments, you know, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office.'

"And I think that that's fundamentally wrong," he remarked. "I also think it's important to point out when you're talking about these Soros-funded prosecutors, yes, they may do a high profile politicized prosecution and that's bad. But the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers, ordinary Americans, and all these different jurisdictions that they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda that these Soros DAs bring to their job. They ignore crime and they empower criminals. And that hurts people, hurts a lot of people every single day."

"The Soros district attorneys are a menace to society, and I'm just glad that I'm the only governor in the country that's actually removed one from office during my tenure," he noted.

DeSantis also said that his office won't be involved in a "manufactured crisis" by the Soros DA.

"We won’t be involved in this," he added. "I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA... He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in FL."

Trump supporters have been roasting DeSantis online about remaining silent over the potential arrest of former President Donald Trump. It will be worth watching if they believe that DeSantis spoke out strongly enough against the political prosecution over if they think he took a veiled shot at the former president.

Best statement of all so far. He’s definitely an exceptional person. God bless this truly great man. Others should emulate him. /S

There- fixed it.

Yes! Because using the power of the DOJ to persecute a former President that vows to dismantle the deep state is no big deal. I see what you did there... enjoy your chains of tyranny. May they rest lightly on your wrists.

Clever response by DeSantis, in which he also twists the knife on rival Trump by twice mentioning the words “porn star” and “hush money.”

Indeed. How Trump-like. So, he is criticized for not responding to Trump's overt insults, and then when he does.

RDS does not let the tail wag the dog. He is not the media, and will not respond to the Trump trolling like the MSM. In fact, he's fairly astute at that himself. Did he let the derisive renaming of his Anti-Groomer bill cow him? No, he doubled down and Disney LGQPXYZ+MSM blinked.

Did I say “evil”? The “derangement” in TDS is a very real thing. People on the left are completely willing to destroy our freedoms just to get this one man, and, no matter how many times they come up empty, they remain convinced that he is the embodiment of all that is evil. It’s nuts

I don’t think he’s evil at all. Not in the least. I think Trump is a true patriot who deeply loves his country. That said, I think he was a man of his moment, and his moment has passed. I think we need someone younger who can serve two terms+ and can throw a sharp elbow without the sharp edges. We need to convince tons of fairly mushy-headed people to vote for us, and I don’t think running a candidate that at least 30% of the electorate hates is a good start to victory.

But I respect the opinion of people who have the opposite view. What I dont respect… and I don’t mean you… is people who get on this forum and feel the need to attribute wicked motives to people who disagree with them, and to come up with all sorts of half-baked charges against candidates other than Trump. They sound like raving maniacs, and my initial point is that they can’t hear how loopy they sound because of the echo chamber here

DeSantis is obligated to refuse to extradite a Citizen of Florida to this manufactured circus (his own words)--in fact, to protect President Trump or any Citizen of Florida. If DeSantis fails to do so, he is DEFINITELY NOT Presidential material.

“DeSantis might not be as big a fan of DJT as you are. Can’t imagine why...:

But is he a fan of the rule of law? That’s the question. It’s not just about Trump. Far from it. Trump is not the only public figure who’s been the victim of this kind of politically motivated abuse of power. It’s becoming endemic. Flynn, Bannon, and Navarro are just a few examples of others who have faced this sort of thing on the federal level, recently. If DeSantis wants to be a leader then he should have spoken out on this important issue sooner. If he wants merely to be a politician, then his response was appropriate.

Do nothing DeSuckits is another sellout Bush republican. I knew the Rinos were making him the goldenboy, like Jeb, where he does amazing things for his state. The other Rino governors just have to sit back and do nothing because their involvement is not needed. Just make the governor look good enough to vote for and bait & switch when he becomes president, doing nothing for the borders, more wars and globalism.

The roles were reversed with the J6 defendants. Trump and many of his surrogates were radio silent there for a loooong time.

A large part of leadership in politics is choosing your battles and not rolling in the political mud on hypotheticals. As often happens Trump’s mouth is writing a lot checks his behind can’t cash.

I've been called worse. I have been worse. But truth prevails.

BTW, you ought to know by now that a resort to ad hominem attacks is a certain indication that you have nothing else to offer.

Super-sized fonts shouting dramatically in a dicussion forum deserve derision.

I found Governor DeSantis' statement delightful today. If the tables were turned, DJT would have derided his opponent about porn star hush money in a New York minute.

You really need to get yourself a mirror. IF Saint Desantis were not running a shadow presidential campaign none of this would be discussed.

There was nothing ‘delightful’ about DeSantis statement.

“It’s becoming endemic. Flynn, Bannon, and Navarro are just a few examples of others who have faced this sort of thing on the federal level, recently.”

Good point, but does that extend to DeSantis having to release a public statements on these - and every future instance - of politically motivated abuses of power? And every other abuse of the “rule of law” (of which there are many, pretty much daily)? If so, that should also extend to Trump and every other politician, and none of them do that. If they do it at all, it’s based on which abuse(s) bother them the most, which are most politically advantageous for them, or both.
