We were doing homework together (honest, that’s all!) and she had a sample test she would have to know how to teach. Math and logic skills required.
. The test was something like this. There are 4 oranges, 3 apples, 2 monkeys and 1 banana. How many pieces of fruit are there. This was a struggle for her.
Socrates didn’t have any credentials either.
A mask, baseball bat and shadow to position myself in as you walk to your car.
Don’t be putting a dress on my boy. I’m going to only tell you once.
A piece of paper does not intelligence
make.
Case in point; Associates Degree.
47 years as a mechanical designer/engineer.
My last years wages before retiring were
well into the 6 figure range. I raised
two great kids that know the difference
between right and wrong, they have
compassion, they don’t lie, cheat, or
steal. Neither has been arrested for any
criminal offense.
And they themselves between them
have 7 children. Those same values are
carried on.
There’s a lot more to education than
just the three R’s.
As for the problem the teacher had to solve, the answer is zero pieces of fruit, the monkeys ate it all.
Teacher: I have a masters degree! What have parents got?!
Let’s make it a True Daily Double...
Uhm...Common sense
I just love how teachers and administrators use the “our” word like they are superior to the parents, they work for us not the other way around. I do have one in my extended family..
“There’s a lot more to education than
just the three R’s.”
From everything I read about modern education I’m not sure that schools even teach those anymore. All I see these days is they spew out leftist indoctrination and plenty of it.
Applause!
I have a PHD in my garage. A post hole digger.
I have two Masters degrees. So, I outrank her.
Jobs.
I do to but mine is in engineering. I’ve actually produced useful things. I had to teach my child all the mathematics you idiots screwed up
I’m done with these evil pukes.
A Master’s in Education is comparable to a degree in any form of “Studies,” Basket Weaving, for example.
There is no verifiable evidence that an advanced degree in Education advances the development of young minds. Quite the reverse is more common. These degrees are nothing more than employment standards.
And this inferiority complex leads academia to self-puffery (not an academic term) as an attempt to lessen the pain from this massive sense of inferiority.
And when professors puff themselves up, students see this aura of self-importance...and they think it is fact, not the fantasy that it is.
Apparently the "advanced degree holders" quoted in this article caught the self-puffery bug while back in grad school.
That degree doesn’t make you a good teacher.....anymore than motherhood makes you a good mother.
Professors are, for the most part, supposed to be school teachers, but they are embarrassed by that lowly occupation (without good reason because being a "real" school teacher is a great profession).
But professors want more. And so do school teachers apparently.
Case in point, this teacher and her hunger to be more than just to be a teacher. Her aspiration seems to be something like a swami, guru, or cult leader with absolute power over her students.
Is it clear now that these leftists are demonic?
ah, you lost all standing when you mentioned God
