“The receiver was not impeded even a tiny amount.

For the record I don’t like the Eagles or the Chiefs. I think we’re done with football.”

I haven’t watched a game since the Broncos won the Super Bowl, happened to watch this video. Holding, easy call and the right call. It was a good try by the defender but he was beaten otherwise, that’s why he held. Good for him that he admitted it. The timing was ruined by that little pull.

That was the whole point. That play was 3rd down and 8. since it was tied 35-35 at the time with just over 2 minutes left KC would have gone for the field goal leaving the Eagles 2 minutes instead of 8 seconds left in the gamr. 2 minutes is eternity in football now a days.

Exactly right - NFL rules on "continuation" or whatever they call it when catching a pass are idiotic. The guy clearly catches the ball with hands only (great catch btw) gets clobbered and fumbles.

The penalty was clearly a hold and a ticky tac PI but a penalty nonetheless.

They had plenty of time left on the clock

You missed the point. With a fourth down, and the clock stopped because of the incomplete pass, the Eagles would have had almost two minutes to come back and score either a touchdown and win, or at least a field goal and a tie. That call that gave the Chiefs a first down, with the Eagles out of time-outs, pretty much sealed the win for the Chiefs. The Chiefs just took three "victory formation" downs to run out the clock, and waited until there was one second on the play clock and eleven on the game clock to call their last time out and kick the field goal. That left the Eagles eight seconds to field the kick off and score a field goal with no time outs.

It was, and it took Schuster off his corner route timing.

Everybody is falling for the left hand...

When it was this, front of the jersey...

Bunch of cry babies!

No, the Eagles defense handed the Chiefs the super bowl ring...

Debating calls from a referee in the NFL is the same as arguing about a WWE ref missing a call when a wrestler hits his opponent with a chair while the ref wasn’t looking.

And he barely even did that. He did nothing more than any other cover guy does within 5yds of the line of scrimmage.

Then again, that call pales in comparison to the ridiculousness of THREE Chief O-linemen holding 3 Bengals D-linemen on the same play and getting away with it.

The Eagles defense disappeared in the 2nd half.

Here’s the play. Two embedded twitter videos. I don’t see that.

I’m not sure the receiver could have caught the ball if the defender was on the bench. There was controversy over some of the calls in the KC - Cincinnati game too.

So? John Fetterman was a bad call. Suck it up, Philadelphia.

I used to care about football. I watched about 15 minutes of Super Bowl and that is the most football I have watched this year, more than all other games for the entire season. I don’t care who one except Jill Biden likes the Eagles so I don’t like them. In that respect I am glad they lost. Otherwise it really is as phony as NBA basketball. The only real sport is WWE wrestling. Football is decided by referees who have been told what outcome is desired. They have only to make or not make calls.

Notwithstanding that it was a ticky-tack call normally not made in a big game, it wasn't what "handed the Chiefs the Lombardi trophy".

No. What cost the Eagles the game was the 24 points the Eagles defense gave up and the meager 11 points the Eagles offense only came up with in the second half!

Very interesting...
People watch a large collection of America-hating felons play a wokified game and then get upset over it...

You are correct. I didn’t read the article or watch the game so I didn’t know it was holding and not PI.

The offending defensive back has admitted publicly he’s guilty

He hoped they’d let it go
