As the article notes, initially in the planning stage, Joe Biden and his administration were all-in for the operation, assuming of course the resulting action -essentially a declaration of war- came with plausible deniability.

I think men with tampons and Barbie pouches sitting in the Whitehouse, having the president of the US call a mentally disturbed man...a brave woman, while also championing the mutilation of children-- plus the pop-up reparation committees-- is probably particularly entertaining.
It was not just the US and Germany who had reasons to stop the Nord lines. Russia had its own reasons which those accusing the US of sabotaging the lines refuse to acknowledge.
Russia does not actually own Nord 2. They own the loans on Nord 2 that would be paid back by the revenues from selling natural gas through it. Nord 2 had not been certified by Germany before the war, so not one meter of gas was ever shipped and Russia has not made any money from Nord 2 at all.
After Biden put sanctions on Nord 2, the company that owns it filed for bankruptcy in Swiss courts, on top of Germany refusing to buy any gas through Nord 2. After the invasion, Germany refused to buy any Russian gas through the Nord lines. Germany is not going to support Russia's war efforts and is willing to pay the price for it. The European energy market is adjusting to cut Russia out. Russia is losing so much revenue from not selling oil and gas they are cutting production this year. What they ship to India, China and other countries is at higher cost that it is nearly at cost just to keep the wells running.
Germany and the rest of Europe were already negotiating other long term energy deals to cut Russia out of the European energy market, and not looking back, before the sabotage. Biden already had what he wanted, there was no need for the US to sabotage the Nord lines several months after they were dead weight on the bottom of the Baltic.
As far as the Biden administration discussing sabotaging the Nord lines, they probably did have that discussion. The US government has all sorts of contingency plans that the public does not know, does not want to know, and have never been carried out. Having a plan is not the same as carrying it out. The discussions Hersh mentions were in February/March, Nord was sabotaged in September, after Germany and Europe committed to cutting Russia out of their energy market. Since the Biden administration already had what it wanted, with the lines shut down and never going to get used, there was no need to sabotage the lines at all.
The only one who comes out not getting what they is Putin. Russia is out billions of Euros in loans, fines, and future lost revenue. During the Cold War, Russia had numerous specialized reconnaissance and sabotage submarines. Russia is the only party coming up short. Russia had billions of Euros in reason and the means to take out the Nord lines.

It was reported that a few days after the pipelines were blown up Putin was already seeking estimates as to the cost of repairing it. You’re just another of the Ukie shills on here.
