Oz Brief -
Good morning and Happy Sunday!
I am writing this post on a sleepless night early Sunday Morning.
My heart is heavy with thoughts and questions that I would like to share and then maybe I can get some sleep.
I. The “Sinners Prayer” is often used to guide a person in their first prayer following a decision to invite Jesus to be their Lord and Savior.
a. We as a nation of people often “argue” the fact that LIFE begins at conception and that a salvation experience is akin to being “Born Again” (see John 3:16 & Acts 16:31).
b. Is a new believer “Born Again” BEFORE or AFTER they recite the “Sinners Prayer”?
c. If the argument is made for “AFTER” how can that argument be consistent with “Salvation by Faith ALONE through CHRIST ALONE”. IF a person is saved through THEIR act of sincerely reciting the sinners prayer then wouldn’t it be logical to conclude that that person was actually saved through THEIR action and not CHRIST alone?
II. Is “The Sinners Prayer” actually the FIRST prayer offered to God The Father FOLLOWING the moment of “conception” as a Born Again member of the Family of God?
a. If anyone be “In Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:17) ?
b. Evidence of Salvation as it relates to works vs works FOR Salvation? (Ephesians 2:9 & Matthew 6:1)
…more to follow but this is what I wanted to put out there and solicit comments before diving deeper into my thoughts that have been heavy on my heart this morning.
