It's also the same strategy the US employed against North Vietnam. The track record of using aerial bombardment when the ground game isn't working doesn't seem very good.

As I recall, Nazi Germany got their Cities Incinerated without warning, which would correspond with Nazi Ukraine getting their Cities Incinerated without warning, finally punishing the German Nazis that fled to Ukraine and joined with their Bandera offshoots there.

And you should research the reason Germany bombed London.

Blitz was aimed at London civilian infrastructure to demoralize the population, lead to pressure on political establishment
Weapons not precisely targeted

Russia knocking out civil-military infrastructure ( power grid precise nodes and military logistics) to cripple war resupply and to demoralize military and civilians, pressure political establishment. But civilian casualties not the goal, and are very low given the firepower being expended

Indeed. How did it work out? It was also the strategy applied to Dresden. I watched a documentary in which war widows from bombed Dresden and bombed Coventry, years later, were interviewed. Their response to the "either side" was no forgiveness or understanding at all. An end came to that war, of course, but the average Joe aches long after, on both sides. Moreover, I recall back in 1987 working with a German who used the word "conquered: in referring to his nation. Even then. Wounds leave scars, and scars can be re-opened so easily.
