Donald Trump Secures First Major Endorsement After Declaring 2024 Candidacy

Former President Donald Trump officially declared earlier this month he is running for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024 and has already picked up his first major endorsement. Veterans For America First has announced it is supporting Trump to become the 47th president.

“Veterans For America First (Veterans For Trump) is proud to announce our endorsement of the greatest President in history: Donald J. Trump for our 47th president,” the organization said in a statement. “President Trump has been most supportive of our Veterans, Military, and First Responder community.

“Over the years, there’s been a bit of confusion over our names: Veterans For America First, Veterans For Trump. The history is significant. Veterans instinctively knew that Trump was their man,” the group noted.

“Many such groups formed back in 2016 and all supported the campaign with critical help. Often it was veterans who do not fear the sound of gunfire that provided campaign events with needed security. One of the things we accomplished in 2016 was coordinating the Veteran Outreach, as you see in the image below where General Flynn and Candidate Trump are addressing the veteran community in Virginia Beach,” the group continued.

“Admiral Kubic, our current national spokesman, played a significant role in leadership and is credited by Steve Bannon and Cory Lewandowski as being there from the beginning,” the group noted further. “The two leaders who emerged out of all this were Joshua Macias and Vlad Lemets. They’re the co-founders of this entity. Each is a true hero in his own right.

It added: “Funny thing is, here in 2022, it appears the names are important again. So, do let me assure you as one who was there, the following is completely true: Veterans For America First is 100% = to Veterans For Trump. As has always been the case, veterans have the view of America’s soul, it’s [sic] destiny and future, as no others.”

Trump declared his candidacy on Nov. 15 during a speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

“America’s comeback starts right now,” Trump said to a room full of supporters. “Unlike other presidents, I kept my promises.”

“The world was at peace, America was prospering, and our country was on track for an amazing future— because I made big promises to the American People and, unlike other Presidents, I kept my promises,” he said. “Under our leadership, we were a great and glorious nation, something you haven’t heard for quite a long period of time. We were a strong nation, and importantly we were a free nation. Now, we are a nation in decline. We are a failing nation.”

Trump added: “I am tonight again announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.”

When asked by reporters who he would pick as his running mate, Trump said, “I’ll let you know very soon.”

According to Robert Draper, a correspondent for The New York Times Magazine, Trump is seriously eying Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

Draper said in an interview with The Daily Beast’s “New Abnormal” podcast “that Greene had risen quickly in her first term in Congress by using the same tactics she honed as a right-wing social media influencer harassing Democratic staffers, and she could shoot to the second-highest office in government,” Raw Story reported.

“Republicans kind of wanted to kick her to the curb immediately,” said Draper, per the outlet. “But instead, she became a fundraising dynamo, came to have this huge social media influence, and ultimately came to be very influential within the party itself.”

Draper went on to say that Trump has been seriously discussing Greene as a potential VP since February, and though he has likely considered others as well, Greene has another quality that may propel her to the top, the report said.

“She has been unflaggingly loyal to Trump throughout,” Draper said. “What is Trump concerned about most of all in a VP after the Mike Pence experience? Loyalty. He knows that if he needs someone to fight for him to overturn a presidential election. He has every reason to expect that Greene would be by his side and would be his proximate warrior.”

Great, find me one that looks like a President and not an affirmative actin hire.

BTW it won’t change any voting patterns but might turn us into New Zealand, in other words a country with a joke leader.
