Longest of shots, but a court could probably order another election if massive fraud was proven. Just showing up in court and saying lines were long probably not going to do it.
One report I read said there were 17,000 ballots in Maricopa that went into ‘Box 3’ when the tabulating machines rejected them, but the story said those were counted a couple of days after the election. That’s not many ballots relative to the vote totals, and the fact they were counted afterwards probably means a person couldn’t prove fraud.
But yeah, if there’s nothing in AZ law that allows a redo, and nothing in the AZ Constitution that lays out procedures for a redo, it will be hard to schedule another general election.
Furthermore, if Lake goes to court and exposes significant fraud in the 2022 election, there is the completely legit option of initiating a recall petition and forcing a recall election for Hobbs and any other elected officials.
Az has a pretty comprehensive ability to recall elected officials for any reason if there is enough support. There is more than enough support to mount an immediate recall of at least Hobbs as we speak.
Very few in Az believes Hobbs won fairly. It all comes down to how many are happy Lake got robbed and how many are disgusted that she was robbed
It's very likely that there will even more support once Lake goes to court and publicizes the election irregularities in the 2022 Az election.
FWIW, Arizona has an automatic recount if there is a 0.5% vote spread. The vote spread is currently about 0.6% with about 37,000 votes left to count, so we are in recount territory. If Lake makes up 0.01 % (about 2000 vote gain out of 37000), which is likely under the circumstances, the election goes into automatic state wide recount.
Given all the crap that has went down, Lake probably can justify a recount even with the current spread.
I suspect Lake wins any recount.
