Despite all the brouhaha over this, hasn’t Trump unequivocally endorsed DeSantis for governor of Florida?

But seriously, Trump's Achilles is his personnel instincts. They're a virtual dumpster fire. Sessions, the Mooch, Bolton, Tillersn, Mattis, Giuliani, McCabe, Nikki Haley, Sally Yates, Flynn, Hope Hicks, Reince Priebus, Rod Rosenstein. Oh, and Pence...and endorsing McCarthy. And PA and Alabama primary nonsense.

There isn't a single person on that list who would NOT have been included in an administration run by Jeb Bush or Ron DeSantis. In fact, Bolton almost certainly would be a cabinet appointee and not a senior advisor who doesn't require Senate confirmation.

Jesus, It was a snide off hand remark GET OVER IT.

So how is a "snide offhand remark" about DeSantis at a major Republican rally on the eve of election day helpful?

Everybody's supposed to look the other way and pretend he didn't say what he said?

People like you hate Trump because you are a Cruzbot that only came back to pimp for Ukraine war.

Do you know if DeSantis is going to back all the neocon foreign adventurism?

I wonder where he stands?

Seems to me that those are threads which merely point out some unpleasant truths.

Anytime some jackass on the Internet or on free republic says I would vote for Donald Trump over any Democrat tells you all you need to know about the person they are anti-Maga

And this site has way too many of them

And they also tend to congregate under the banner of the flag of a foreign country by the way I wonder who

South Dakota. More people live in the Tampa Bay area than in that whole state. Govenor Desantis did more for the people of Florida during the scamdemic and the wokeness that followed than any other person in the country. Sorry, but we Floridians are deeply in his debt. Thanks Ron.

Details are important, and conveniently omitted in your monochrome vision of DeSantis...

Florida, unlike SD and GA, experienced an astounding invasion of Yankees fleeing Covid lockdowns by land and by air, at the height of the Covid pandemic. Many of these refugee Yankees brought the Covid virus with them and consumed Florida's limited healthcare resources and daily living staples at that time (recall shortages of everything, including food and toilet paper).

DeSantis worked tirelessly and effectively to protect the great Senior Citizens of Florida, along with the rest of the FL population during the Yankee invasion, under very difficult circumstances.

Your disdain for DeSantis is palpable. I suppose if the tables were turned and DeSantis lowered himself to make snarky remarks about DJT three days before the elections, that would not be acceptable to you.

I liked DeSantis. But I’m afraid he is falling in with the wrong crowd these days. Regardless of that fact, I feel that he would not be a good candidate for President. Very simply he lacks the requisite charisma necessary to win. If he is really America First, and that is now in question, he will be going up against the entire power structure of The U.S. A boring and pedestrian guy like him will get eaten alive. We need a pr genius and we have a pr genius.

And, Trump managed to choose only 1 satisfactory U.S. Attorney General: Matthew Whitaker, who could only hold that post temporarily as Acting AG.

The highlighted part tells the entire story. Trump could only appoint a satisfactory on an interim basis because an interim AG doesn't require Senate confirmation.

It's time to put a lot of these complaints about Trump's personnel picks to rest. For any executive branch post that requires Senate confirmation, the appointees weren't selected by Trump -- they were selected by Mitch McConnell.

I’m getting so tired of this Trump vs. DeSantis fake match up.

Let the Democrats squabble about who they will nominate to run against Trump in 2024.

We don’t need to worry about such questions until 2028, and that is a long way off.

I don't criticize DeSantis for not being "perfect" on COVID. I only criticize him for pretending he was.
