The father of a Democrat running for a seat in the Washington state House of Representatives has accused his son of lying about his military service.
Brett Shavers is the father of 10th District candidate Clyde Shavers, who has claimed in his campaign that he served for eight years as a nuclear submarine officer, according to the Everett Herald.
The Herald said it spoke to the elder Shavers to ensure it was him who wrote a letter to Republican opponent Greg Gilday.
“I have told him not to do embellishments and exaggerations and it continued and continued, it just reached a point where it’s affecting everyone’s integrity and honesty,” Brett Shavers said by phone, according to the report.
The letter, which addressed multiple issues that Shavers had with his son’s campaign material, said “Clyde was never a submarine officer, not even for a day.”

How many times have we caught Democrats lying? Why do we continue to vote for liars? Would you hire someone who you caught lying in the pre-employment interview? Asking for a friend.
They don’t accept just any officer to serve on submarines. Well, they didn’t when I was on subs in the late 70s to mid 80s, I was an enlisted Machinist Mate, not an officer just to be clear. They were the cream of the crop, I had a lot of respect for all of them and the weight on their shoulders and their leadership skills.

my son was a nuclear electrician for 10 years. Got out because the officer corps was so abysmally bad. He and many others stated as they left that they did not want to get killed by these incompetent idiots they now call officers in the Navy.
Started with Clinton and completed by Obama/Biden of striping the officer corps of all competent (conservative) personnel

They know it, because they’ve been working for 102 years to get to this point. We have so many useful idiots in this nation…a nation that has moved toward full fledged fascism recently (the company I work for participates in order to gain the favor of the totalitarians…that is a big part of fascism). All these corporations, government entities, religious entities all getting rich off of the capitalist dough, will reap what they sowed by understanding how useless they are when this republic is finally in ruins. What likely happened was he got his butter bar and THEN orders for TRAINING in the sub service.
But I doubt seriously he received his COMMISSION as a sub officer.
