Apparently, the policy requires stringent signature verification which, of course, is racist.

Do young people even have a stable signature? Do they own a pen? They have mad texting skills, but their dominate hand penmanship is about as skilled as their undeveloped hand. An increasing number of government schools don't teach cursive writing.

After three decades using computers fur just shirt everything except writing checks and greeting cards, I sat down one day to write in a journal and found I nearly couldn’t. So much disuse had left me almost bereft of any legible handwriting ability.

That was a couple of years ago, and I write more on purpose, now, but I really had to work to rehab my penmanship, and it still isn’t what it once was.

It’s a supreme irony that our most avant garde technology works to strip users of one of mankind’s most powerful pivotal innovations: writing.
