Don’t forget the u.n.’s IANSA. They to want to control firearms. Just pay cash. But don’t tell them that.
So, does ‘any’ sporting goods store CC transaction pop up?
“This should be unconstitutional to collect and retain this data on American Citizens. “
I asked this earlier and haven’t seen an answer. When you purchase with a credit card, is the merchant required to accurately record what you purchased?
Most sheriffs in NevaDUH won’t waste resources on enforcing that.
I doubt they track purchases by criminals.
Violent criminals do not use credit cards to buy guns. This is meant to create a registry of innocent, non-violent citizens who have guns legally, and to harass them and eventually take those guns away.
No plans to take guns from violent criminals, however.
Yeah, the local sheriff says the same thing(Oregon). But, it gives them the option. Selective law enforcement doesnโt make me too comfortable.
I purchased something at Cabela’s yesterday using a Visa card.
It shows up in my statement as “CAB STORE < location redacted by me>” and is the “Spend Category” is listed as “Merchandise - Sporting Goods Stores”. The purchase was not a firearm, but was firearm related ... don’t know if that would show up differently.
Buying ammo is the same as precious metals...
Much better to steal them like the gangbangers do.
Until there is no longer cash.
ISO doesn’t “track” anything. All ISO has done is assign a new 4-digit value to be used in the “merchant category code field” of the card network messages.
It is up to the card networks (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, etc.) to allow that value in the field, and it is up to the merchant banks and merchants to assign and implement usage of the new value.
Like HIPAA, everyone who you would least want to have it has access, it only blocks those that you might wish to know.
Put your phone in a faraday cage if you go to an ATM or bank at an unusual time, and then go to purchase a gun with cash.
PirateChain or ZCash.
Leave you phone at home if you go to an ATM or bank at an unusual time, and then go to purchase a gun with cash.
In fact, make a habit of being “phoneless” for hours at a time, all the time.
Trust me, folks ... it’s entirely possible to live without a mobile phone on your person.
CRIMINALS don’t buy their guns using credit cards.
True, but ammo can’t buy the groceries. Not yet, anyway.
Wow, these people are going to pay for their crimes against the Constitution.
Get the purchase amount.
Buy a visa gift card at your local grocery.
Use gift card.
Throw away.
Yes someday someone can track the gift card back to your actual credit card. But that is the same bridge as tracking back from retailers to you currently. Itโs far more work.
