I learned at a young age criminal minds often stem from jealousy. Not envy, rather jealousy coming from a perception that someone else might get the attention taken away from them.
In the 5th grade, a fellow named Roni and I were the top two students. But Roni was jealous. I was not.
I was a top student without jealousy because of natural ability and a strict but caring father.
Roni was a top student with a jealous streak because of natural ability and a jealous vindictive father.
Roni's jealousy unleashed on me one day, in a deceptive, dishonest way. Students sat at small round tables, four to a table. Roni and I sat next to each other. All were handed a multiple choice test.
Minutes after starting the test, when the teacher was not looking, Roni startled me by pushing his paper in front of me to show the answer he had marked for the third question. My eyes saw it because it was put right in front of me. I knew it was the correct answer and I marked it on my paper as I would have in any case.
Roni raised his hand to the teacher, and announced that I had copied his answer. The teacher took my test and had me sit in a corner.
That was my introduction to politics.
