California passed a measure that would BAN the sale of new gas-fueled vehicles by 2035. What States are Planning to Follow? Automotive industry experts say that the shift needs to be consumer driven. This may backfire on the state of California as other agendas have in the past. If you have additional questions, put them in the comments below and I'll be happy to answer.
Not just winter, I had batteries crap out on me in the middle of summer because of the heat
In NV we are getting an 8% power increase to pay for the “Green” boondoggle the socialist mandated.
Also to pay for the largely failed Tonopah solar facility.
I am hopeful that we will not go full-retard on EV’s as we are so spread out that they really are not practical here outside the Reno/LV areas.
If the dolts force Volts, we have so many classic ICE cars to be restored we will just begin to look like Havana.
California’s brilliant strategy:
1. Mandate electric vehicles, ban ICE vehicles.
2. Fail to keep the lights on.
It’s genius!
In Organ they announce the results of "elections" before the sun even sets and why bother finish counting them "because they have plenty"
I’m thinking that Canada will really be interesting when they do this.
(‘Sale’ of new ICE powered cars. NevaDUH is also on track for this crap.)
I had to look ICE powered cars up. I didn’t know what the ICE in that statement meant.
ICE stands for internal combustion engine. An internal combustion engine is any type of powertrain that obtains it’s rotating power through igniting a liquid fuel source inside the engine.
Well, damn!
***a perfectly good coal-fired plant in the NW part of the state***
That would be the APS plants South of the San Juan river and the San Juan plants at Waterflow north of the river.
Oh yeah, I’d say it would be fun to watch but the western provinces shouldn’t be punished for the idiots in Ottawa
Sorry. I lived in a world of acronyms for almost 40 years and sometimes I forget. 😂👍
There! Fixed it.
Misguided (follow the money?) California technology escapists were convinced that the compact fluorescent light was the way to go until widespread usage by law of that technology revealed basic flaws with it.
Green Follies Escalate in the Face of Failure (CFLs are a dud in the real world) (from 11+ years ago, 1.20.2011)
Getting back to EVs, although EV pioneering work needs to be done imo, and under state powers, California ruling elite seem to have a history of not doing their homework, evidenced by embrace of half-baked ideas.
In fact, where's that California train? Running late?
One problem with California is that ruling elite are probably not concerned about what legal resident taxpayers want.

Insights welcome.
It was passed when the Rats controlled the legislature.
After the 2021 election, a motion was made to dissolve it, but there were enough Rats left over to prevent it.
Maybe one more election cycle should do it.
Here is my prediction...at some point in about 8 - 12 years, a bunch of whiny, screaming, collectivist white women are going to wake up in shock when their entire state flips Republican, comprised of almost entirely Black, Hispanic, and Asian conservative office holders.
They will be walking around in a daze wondering how people could be so stupid to vote against their self-interests.
Don’t forget to run out of water in the entire SW. 40 million will have to move east.
Yup. And the sooner the better.
A ‘’neck tie party’’ would be in order I think.
I am sure that my state of Hawaii will be next. Considering that the have been ruled by the democrats since 1954.

This is what you have to look forward to
To his credit, Glenn Youngkin is working to reverse that stupid standard. But if it’s an actual law, that would look dubious, considering one house of VA’s legisl00ture is still communist-led.
I anticipate this insane rule will have a number of states reconsidering CA emissions rules. Prior to this, CA rules meant that the car was a little more expensive but made for a bit better air so it was an easy sell for greenies.
So, will all those EV's be able to go up the Western Slope on I-70 on a snowy winter's day just west of the Eisenhower Tunnel?
Can you imagine using a damned EV on a snowy ride home from Vail to Denver?
