Many 911 calls are called in by a witness, neighbor or bystander. So voice recognition is no good for determining the legitimacy. However it could help identify the criminal eventually.

Spoofing her phone number is easy. I have read that you can buy the how to’s over the Internet.

I have been swatted. Luckily for us out sheriff is a really level headed guy, a jewel. The deputy and I had a nice long relaxed conversation....at 11:00 PM.

In my jurisdiction, 911 has the history of a address for any LE or medical need for several decades.

LE once gave me a house call about my intent should I catch any horny teenage age boy on my property (I think it word got out).

Not only that, but I suspect the cops are on edge because it could be a set-up to kill a cop.

Several cops have been killed recently in vary similar situations.

I think there was a case a couple of weeks ago where three cops went on the call and two got shot. One died.

Anything can happen on this tye call.

By the way, the GA cops don’t need the FBI to get the identy of the caller.

The phone company can give them the info. The problem is that the info may be worthless.

For instance it would be very unusual for a person in her position not to have caller ID. So she probably already has the phone number.

But if that call originated from another number and the number she has for ID was spoofed only the phone company can track it back.

I know little or nothing techy about source tracing, but believe that the “call” was placed through a “virtual” internet connection that masks the source. But, if they can track the “RED OCTOBER”...
