I wish nothing but the best for Iron Mike. He was on the tail end of the era of great heavyweight fighters—Ali, Frazier, Norton, Quarry, etc— that gave us so many thrilling memories. People think of him as kind of a lunkhead, but he says some pretty good stuff sometimes, like “Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.” Someone asked him what was the best way to become a successful boxer and he said, “While you’re working on being a good boxer, pay more attention to becoming a good person because you’re going to be a person a lot longer than you’re going to be a boxer.”

Ok he’s a little older now, a little slower but 56 isn’t all that old. Does he have some diagnosed degenerative disease process that will hasten his demise? Doesn’t sound like it. Seems like if he had a good diet, exercise program and no drugs/pot, etc… might have better overall health. Could it be reactions to the Vax like he says? Perhaps but my guess is that there are other factors involved too.
