This is the first I've heard on this topic. I am not sure who the person is in the Twitter video.

He basically says that yes, Trump declassified the Russia collusion documents. Then he left the White House with the documents and Biden, or whoever the President is, reclassified them.

Therefore Trump thought he was in possession of documents which were now public record. But now the docs are classified and he is in possession of classified material.

The reclassification was never made public.

Is it possible to do this, not inform the public, then arrest someone for possession of classified material?

IDK, that's why I'm asking.

The hounds of hell have been unleashed on a sinful nation and we’re watching the Republic being eaten from within.

Obviously, it’s possible because it appears to have been done. It may be that Trump ordered them declassified, but that was just the start of the process and his underlings refused to follow through and release the documents. Just remember when W. Bush and Co. outed CIA agent Valerie Plame? The argument was that Bush had declassified parts of the Nation Intelligence Estimate so it was OK.

Part of the law regarding classified documents is it has to be intentional. Obviously Trump (or the GSA who packed up the docs) had no intention of taking classified docs. So if Biden reclassified them without telling Trump, the case is closed.

Unless of course this was just a fishing expedition carried out under false pretenses.

How is this even possible? Once something is declassified, could it not then potentially be dispersed? And if so, would it not then be impossible to classify it again without knowing every individual who had access to the declassified documents?

If something has been made public, you can’t really make it “unpublic” again. The cat is out of the bag at that point.

If this is true it seems Trump would have said something specific. So far Trump’s comments have been real general.

It’s possible to do, but it won’t stand up in the court of last resort (SCOTUS). The process is the punishment, they don’t care about the final outcome.

Probably violates the ex post facto clause of the constitution.

It will give the screaming meemies more fuel for their conniption fits right up through the November, also.

Clever ploy on Biden’s part (although probably someone else came up with the idea). Trump can now be ruled ineligible to hold office. He can litigate it but the states with Democratic attorneys general can refuse to allow his name on the ballot in 2024.

If you are going to declassify something then make the documents public pronto. I figure Trump might have been sitting on documents he declassified in order to use them at some future date to prove crimes and corruption. If so it didn’t work out so great for him.

Why didn’t Trump declassify and make these documents public well before the end of his term?

Smells like BS. There is a process involved in declassifying documents. If Trump declassified them when he was president, there is a paperwork trail and the documents will be marked appropriately. He lost the authority to declassify them on 20 Jan 2021.

My guess is this is a situation where Trump, like all recent presidents before him, kept some classified documents that will eventually be declassified and placed in his presidential library. Trump might even have planned to “leak” some as an election “dirty trick”, with plausible deniability of course. Some of these are probably seriously damaging to the FBI, DOJ and the left, so they are going after them.
