Sad news, I remember listening to Vin Scully broadcast Dodger games as a boy on my little transistor radio in the early 1960s. Absolutely the best sports announcer of all time.

Growing up as a Yankee fan, I detested everything Dodger blue except for Vin Scully (and if he wasn’t pitching against my team, Sandy Koufax). Scully was a class act. No one could announce a game like him.

Classy guy and my favorite baseball play-by-play announcer ever.
Scully also told a friend of my dad that life on the road as a baseball announcer was damn boring.

Never a Dodger fan, but credit where it’s due - he was the best.

Very sad and very shocked.

Vin Scully was a storyteller, and nobody ever told the story of baseball better. He called games with such elegance and grace. He spoke only when necessary, allowing the broadcast to breathe when it demanded. He made baseball a more beautiful game. RIP.
