Dr. Swier is too polite. “green dream” should be “green wet dream”.

I don’t know if that’s “full woke”. I have all battery powered yard tools (Ego) and tools for around the house. Chainsaw, blower, trimmer, hedger, drills, sanders, etc-—they work better, are more convenient and I can do yard work at 6AM. For me, that is the free market....my choice.

It won’t matter how much that box of cornflakes costs when it isnt on the shelf to purchase in the first place.

I have an electric chainsaw and weed whacker.

They are fine, for small jobs, but not for actual "work".

When you run out of gas or diesel, you can grab a can and walk a bit.

The technology is not yet up to par for electric tractors.

I have doubts on the veracity of this article.

Electric next year? That would mean Deere has all this equipment in prototype stage. Have heard nothing about this.

Furthermore the questions asked by farmers would have been presented to the development team internally years ago.

There was dead silence on the other end of the phone.

We live in a land of lies. We can, for now, preserve order by telling ourselves lies, and telling lies to others. That won't last forever.

No problem.

Just put solar panels over your fields.

I see what’s going on here. That farmer made a mistake. He tried to apply math to the problem.

Greenies don’t do the math. And they don’t want anyone else to do the math. In this brave new world, 1+1 is whatever you want it to be. Or to be more specific, it’s what the Greenies want it to be.

If the Republicants get in charge this year or January of next year, they better throw a monkey wrench into the gears of COMMUNISM.

I have considered buying an electric chainsaw, but I don’t know where to get an extension cord 500 yards long.

This makes about as much sense as having an all-electric submarine (charged in port) in the Navy.

"Look for the cost of your box of cornflakes to triple in the next 24 months."

I called it 8 months ago.

To: lightman

Very true. Farmer’s are going experience a 40-50% reduction in yield without nitrogen though. Then translate that into the supply/demand outcome and people will be looking at a $10 box of cornflakes in 2023.

Folks,

Agriculture is a fashion industry. We have to have change whether it helps or not.

Think about the fashion industry, it is change for the sake of change.

I remember dating a gal from home economics. She asked me if I knew why emerald green was the popular color that fall. Being a dumb farm kid I said “no I don’t”. She said that color was PICKED BY A COMMITTEE 4 YEARS AGO. Then the dye makers got to work, the cloth manufactures got to work, the designers got to work, marketing, etc etc.

I remembered thinking. Is agriculture a fashion industry? My conclusion was yes........................

Here is the simple answer to the farmers questions.

Based upon 6 hours of useful battery charge, you will need to by 4 times as much equipment so as the batteries run down you pull that piece out and charge it up for 24 hours and use the next piece of equipment and so on and so forth.
