Was Hunter under oath when he wrote his book or when he did a T.V. interview?
It’s not against the law to lie to the media…….
I’m not at all defending Hunter, just pointing out what his Lawyers will argue.
You don’t need to be under oath when you confess to a crime for it to be admissible. The jury would decide whether or not his various confessions are truthful. The videos and his overall history would both add credence to his statements.
Or as one of the liberal twitter comments posted:
“It looks as though his devices were compromised -recording him without his knowledge and direction. Are they finding malware on these??”
It wouldn’t surprise me if somebody posts “With all of Trump’s money he probably had these videos created using a body double or CGI of Hunter.”
Hunter was in and out of drug rehab for cocaine addiction when he swore on a federal firearms application that he was not under the influence or a user of any illegal drugs.
If you or I lied so obviously and blatantly on a form 4473, we’d be investigated, arrested and imprisoned.

There's copious evidence of his drug use, including his own book. My understanding simply lying on the form only carries a five year sentence, but I could be wrong. Of course there are only a couple dozen cases filed per year.
