I was switching channels in the car a few days ago, and happened to catch a bit of a conversation between an NPR host and a “climate change expert” guest.
They were both laughing about how “We need to destroy the economy in order to save the planet.”
I kid you not. They were laughing.

Like those at the top of the pyramid, throughout human history, they do not expect to suffer any negative consequences of their actions and they have zero empathy for what they do to the masses.
A Couple of years ago, blood letting was considered a valid medical treatment for certain illnesses. One could make a case that if there was a massive bloodletting on the earth, Mother Gaia might be saved (in fact, that is exactly what the green socialists want).
Yeah... I monitor npr. I heard a Leftist bird brain squealing about the very real drought in the SW. NOT FOR 1200 Years has there been such a drought. That the bird brain reportette did not follow up with the obvious question....well....why are our tax $$$$ funding this crap?????
They have been saying this for years. We make the mistake of either not listening to them or not taking them seriously. We have made that mistake at our peril, and the peril is nigh at hand.
They have been saying the same thing for decades about deliberately driving energy costs up as well to suppress oil drilling and consumption.
We only hear it when it escapes the lips of one of them and makes it into the world, which is often enough.
In their cocktail parties in the Hamptons, at sleepovers in Martha’s Vineyard, and receptions at things like the WEF, you can be assured these types of conversations are common and animated.
It is for our own good, after all.

25 or 30 years ago, many of journalists sympathized with the public (e.g. Mike Royko), because they had middle-class salaries like most of the public. Somewhere along the way, there was the rise of overpaid “celebrity” newscasters and newspaper journalists (e.g. NYTimes Paul Krugman). These people, with their multi-million dollar contracts are both out of touch with the public, and worse, contemptuous of the public.
Does anyone have the translation of the book “To Serve Man”. We might be able to use that book to save the planet by barbecuing “climate change experts”.
