Mom is out of surgery. My brother got called by doctor (he’s on other side of continent, I’m 10 min away), who seemed positive about the surgery.
It WAS a ball replacement. Not the pins my brother thought.
One thing that is different about my mom is she is very sedentary and hermit-like. She doesn’t want to do anything. Some of it is the natural pain she has from her terrible double-scoliosis. But she’s been like this a long time, resistant to every single thing. She will probably be upset she has to do therapy at all, much less frequently. She will be upset she might have to live with me, or in rehab, etc. she does not have a normal schedule, never, since she retired. It drives us nuts. She sleeps until at least noon but doesn’t go to sleep until2 or more in the morning, so it wreaks havoc with ANY business. That will include rehab. No one works at night, but that is her mainstay.
So much to worry about, never mind the physical things.
