Thank you. That’s part of the scariness: we really don’t know what we’re facing - if everything goes OK to start!
Mr. mm broke his hip many years ago. He was about 50 I’d say, and he still had a long road of recovery.
There will be PT for many months at least.
What was nice was that he had a visiting nurse come a couple times a week and some in home PT for a few weeks, until he could get around well enough for me to take him to it.
He started with a walker and had to stay on one floor, initially, but then graduated to crutches and eventually stairs.
There’s the chance your mom may need to go into rehab, depending on her age and general level of health.
It’ll be a few months for recovery, but not sure about time in rehab if she goes there.
I’m very sorry. But the doctors and hospitals are very good at dealing with this now. I have a friend who went through it not too long ago. Long recovery and physical therapy, but people have a much better time of it now than in the past.
