Netflix began layoffs on Thursday, just days after its stock plummeted.
Netflix shares cratered more than 20% last Tuesday after the company reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter.
Netflix began laying off people at Tudum, a website that promotes shows on the streaming service just a few months after it launched.
Protocol reported:
The belt tightening appears to have started at Netflix: A number of journalists working for the company’s entertainment site Tudum have been laid off, according to tweets by those affected. A Netflix spokesperson told Protocol Thursday that there were no plans to shutter the site, calling it “an important priority for the company.”

I don’t think it’s the woke culture. There are so many streaming options now. Paramount Plus is only $4.99 a month, for example. People are simply belt-tightening due to the crappy economy. Netflix raising their prices was really stupid.
My prediction is that Disney is next.
All I know is the second part of the last season of OZARK starts streaming this weekend, we will binge it and then cancel Netflix.

I think this has more to do with Netflix spending $270 MILLION on one season of Stranger Things and other money mismanagement issues. Regardless, I was very happy when I saw the tweets from the former employees.
I quit because they produce child pornography. When I imagine what it took in rehearsal and direction to get those kids to do what they did, it made my skin crawl.
I quit them as soon as I heard they did it, and no, I didn’t watch it.

Unfortunately, I'm sitting on a cache of NFLX stock. I'm still in the money, but it was looking a lot better 6 months ago.
Netflix at one time had great documentaries on History, Rock Bands, etc and great movies. It sucks a donkey now.
I would also like to see this happen to Jim Beam and Harry’s Razor Blades for going woke. I believe there are a lot of companies that went woke without being exposed or very little mention. I’ve been drinking Jim Beam since the 60’s and their small batch bourbons since the 90’s and had accumulated quite the collection of Jim Beam memorabilia. When Jim Beam announced they were supporting BLM everything came to a stop. I threw out every Jim Beam item I owned and will never patronize them again.
That about covers it for me too. They're WAY overboard with that crap.
