Your friend was probably given remdesivir and put on the ventilator. Anymore a trip to the hospital could be a dangerous thing to do. . . few actually read what they are signing. The stories have been heart wrenching.

I got COVID/Delta last Nov, was 63, unvaxed with plenty of risk factors, and only missed two days of work. My unvaxed 84-year-old mother with severe COPD got it a week later and never had more than a minor headache.

Our approach, FWIW,

- Having testing kits at home to eliminate treatment delays
- Getting monoclonal antibody treatments within hours of testing
- Daily D3 with Zinc and Quercitin
- Nightly horse paste

My friend of 35 years - a couple of years younger than me and in excellent shape - went the hospital route and has left behind a grieving wife and daughter.
