There is no encirclement of Kiev. To storm the city by the Russian Federation, you need to throw all available human resources here, - Chairman of the VA Zhirnov
The forces of those who are trying to take Kiev should be 5-7 times greater than those who are defending themselves. The enemy must create an inner and Outer Ring of encirclement.
This was stated in an interview with the publication "NV" by the head of the military administration of the capital Nikolai Zhirnov. No with reference to the press center of the General Staff.
"As the head of the military administration of Kiev and as a military man, I can assure you for sure that Kiev is not under siege. There is no encirclement of the city," he said.
According to him, most of all where the enemy has advanced in the Zhytomyr direction is Yasnogorodka. But then it was stopped. Despite the advantage in manpower and weapons, the enemy could not get out and take control of the Odessa Highway. The situation is similar in the Obukhov and Boryspil directions.
"We recorded the exit of the columns, the Armed Forces struck. The enemy suffered losses, went on the defensive and regrouped. We control the eastern and southern parts of the region. Every city in the Kiev region, our neighbors are strongholds where our military and all residents stand up for their homes, streets and neighborhoods," adds Zhirnov.
Commenting on the situation in the area of Gostomel and Irpen, he noted that at the beginning of a full-scale war, we did not have enough troops concentrated in this direction to stop the enemy on the border. That is why the enemy was able to reach the borders of the Irpen River.
"But now the Armed Forces of Ukraine have stopped the enemy, suffered significant losses. Every day for the enemy is hell, the armed forces and territorial defense destroy the enemy from within. We deal damage to its rear, communications, and equipment. Now the invaders do not have enough resources.
The moral and psychological state of the enemy is low and does not allow him to perform his tasks. In this regard, the enemy suspended offensive operations on the capital in this direction. I repeat, the enemy does not have enough forces to continue the offensive," the head of the military administration claims.
He also recalls that there were military operations in Vasylkiv and Baryshevka.
"The invaders suffered losses of personnel and equipment and refused to advance further. These territories are completely under our control. That is, from the eastern and southern sides of Kiev, the enemy has no advantages," says Zhirnov.
"According to all military canons, in order to take over Kiev, the enemy must create an internal and external ring of encirclement. The forces of those who are trying to take Kiev should be 5-7 times greater than those who are defending themselves. The troops that are part of the inner ring should storm Kiev, and those that are part of the outer ring should provide security from unblocking troops.
Now the city has an extremely large group of troops, so now, in order to create a group, the enemy must collect all available human resources and bring them to Kiev. For example, during the Second World War, it took 2 million people and 42 thousand artillery barrels to storm Berlin. Therefore, now it is extremely difficult to create such a group that would storm Kiev, even for a country like Russia," he continues.
Sounds like Hitler in 1945.
Would be unthinkable to Western war-planners - but Russia is not the West.
At this point it is clear that Putin has no way to take the major cities.
The only military question left in this war is if Putin can hold the parts of Ukraine he has taken. Will the mass mobilization of the Ukrainian people retake those areas before any peace talks?
"Let's ordinary Ukrainians and the Russian Army fight!!"
We need a Hitler video starring the Ukrainian comedian - in his trademark stiletto heels...
Putin and his savages are capable of anything.
“Let’s ordinary Ukrainians and the Russian Army fight!!”
Have you seen the quality of the Russian military? If a farmer with a shotgun goes up against a squad from the VDV, only a fool wouldn’t put their money on the farmer.
LOL.
Nope. There are examples of cites that gave up and it is business as usual living their normal lives, and the cities where the Nazis took positions at schools and hospitals and firing artillery.
The population is getting smarter over time, chasing the Nazis out and reporting their positions to the Russian troops.
No, and neither have you.
We've seen stuff shat out by the propaganda mills of the Left West, though.
It's almost your one year anniversary!
The Russians are forgetting the painful lessons they learned in 1945. Armored vehicles were not designed and are not suitable for fighting in tight urban spaces.
The Russian advance on Kiev is not their top priority. It is the media’s top priority, but the Kiev Russian forces in general are waiting until the Ukraine army, in the Donbas where 75+% of it is, is wiped out.
There is no point in advancing until the Donbas forces arrive. Should not be too very long, but they clearly are committed to victory and are in no hurry.
Worth noting: Active Russian Ground Forces number around 290,000; number of troops committed by most reports: 150,000-200,000. Not even the upper echelon generals know the exact number of troops in the RU GF. Naval infantry (Marines) is around 12,000. See Wiki.
Yup—this is the kind of “objective journalism” we have come to expect these days.
The war propaganda is amusing if you have a dark sense of humor.
Armored vehicles were not designed and are not suitable for fighting in tight urban spaces.

Most images I’ve seen show vehicles lost in rural areas with only one or two inside a city.
Let’s see after Putin’s forces cut off the food and supply routes.
“Nope. There are examples of cites that gave up and it is business as usual living their normal lives, “
If by normal lives, you mean going out every night and killing some Russians then you are correct. A lot of dead Russians in Kherson the last couple of nights.
