Former President Donald Trump told conservative talk show host Glenn Beck Tuesday the moment he knew for sure Democrats were spying on him.
“You said from the very beginning, ‘They’re spying on us.’ How did you know that was happening?” Beck asked during a phone interview for his radio show, wondering if it was just a “gut” instinct.
“I think it was a combination of things, but I tell you, the world blew up when I did that,” Trump responded.
Trump said the moment came during his 2016 contest against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton when he was watching a television show — he did not identify the program — and “somebody suggested” that then-President Barack Obama’s White House was spying on the Trump campaign.
“I felt there was something strange going on, really strange, and I just put it out,” Trump said.
“I got a call like two minutes later from the head of communications saying … ‘the wires are burning up. They’re smoking,'” despite it being a Saturday, as he recalled.
“And now I know why,” Trump continued. “Because, they said, ‘Oh my God, they caught us.’”
The FBI, under the Obama administration, launched an investigation in the summer of 2016 to determine if Trump’s campaign was colluding with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential race.

I remember that woman he employed that was once on his tv show who allegedly recorded him in the White House without him knowing and then she released the recording. It was so clear, not muffled at all. I bet the whole White House was bugged.

Where would he find “the whole new group of people”? Pretty much everyone working for him betrayed him at some point (Pence, etc)…
I doubt we know even half of the whole story as another poster awhile back indicated the total # of Americans spied on was redacted. Based on my knowledge of classifying procedures, that was done so only a few folks knew how widespread the spying was.
I automatically assumed most of the GOP were spied on and blackmailed when Sessions mysteriously recused himself out of thin air, and Barr didn’t do much to help Trump defend the Portland Federal Courthouse, nor did Barr open up investigations on BLM/ANTIFA. Given the evil nature of the communist left, I assumed corporate titans and other NGOs were spied on too.
The only hope we have is to clean out the GOP, and how would we even know whether remaining GOPers weren’t already compromised.
Offensive action against the unfolding tyranny is next to impossible since you cannot move more than a platoon-size without secure commo.
