From the article....This is actually the Queen Elizabeth's wishes. Queen Consort is the appropriate title since she would be the wife of the King.

I noticed that also. Yes, “planning ahead” is reasonable and prudent, especially when the actual date is uncertain but its probability is certain. Still , without her resignation letter in hand, it is bit macabre in tone.
