Right - the Queen / Governor-General can do that but the government would have probably have to be in a state of total chaos / collapse before a move like that would have popular support.
It was done in Australia in 1975.
Right, his party did not win the “national popular vote” - but they are in charge. Because, of course, they are separate district elections that have nothing to do with other, just like our separate state elections for electing president.
You don’t hear the Left crowing about this supposed “affront to democracy” since it one of their own that is in charge.
The last time a Governor General in a Westminster system removed a sitting PM was in Australia, in, I believe, 1975.
It caused a major constitutional crisis, which ended up with people saying it could never happen again.
The ability of the Governor General of Canada (or, I suppose, the Queen) to remove the PM exists in theory only.
The protesters have no choice any more.
If they stop with Trudeau still in power, they will be hunted down at leisure and their lives ruined, like the Jan 6 protesters. The political class will feel a need to make examples of them
As Machiavelli said, “Do not do your enemy a small injury”. They need to leave the political class afraid to piss them off again.

A more complete quote
“Never do any enemy a small injury for they are like a snake which is half beaten and it will strike back the first chance it gets.” From “The Prince”, chapter 3

Upon this, one has to remark that men ought either to be well treated or crushed, because they can avenge themselves of lighter injuries, of more serious ones they cannot; therefore the injury that is to be done to a man ought to be of such a kind that one does not stand in fear of revenge.

There isn’t one.
Canadians whiffed on their golden opportunity to remove Justin when they recently reelected him. They chose poorly.
Dominion Voting Systems is a Canadian company.
Just saying.
Create a list of which truckers will be running for office for the next few years. And who will run for Pete TrueDope's office.

The governor general is answerable to the queen of England. What if the queen says “Off with his head?” She must be feeling nostalgic, after seventy years on the throne.
Meaning who will run for the Canadian Parliament in TruDope’s constituency. In almost all if not all parliamentary systems there is no direct election for PM.
She does as she's told.
