I recognize that it is these losses that gave Schumer his Senate Majority Leader position over McConnell BUT I also remember previous near-50/50 Senates (Jumpin Jim Jeffords!) and how fragile such RINO leads were.

Imagine a similar 51/49 GOP lead at the beginning of this Administration and think about certain GOP Senators like Lisa Murkowski or Mitt Romney (to name but two). All eyes and pressure would be on THEM to go ‘I’ndependent for Schumer & Co to get their goals! While I am sure there is a lot of the same persuasion effort for this in the background, the FACT is that if the ‘D’onkeys can’t get Manchin AND Sinema to sign-off then there is too little reward for a “Jeffords Jump”!
