Cruz made his apology on national television. Go ahead and pile on him if ya like, but remember, if Texas goes blue so goes the nation.

Let’s not eat our own. He made a mistake and he owned up to it after taking a flaming from Tucker Carlson who did the job other journalist/commentators should be doing. I mean took Cruz to the woodshed.

So, let’s move on. Cruz is a conservative and has done allot of good for the conservative cause.

His apology was not very strong. He kept making excuses for what he said. He kept trying to wiggle out of “apologizing” but Tucker would have none of it.

He merely showed he does not have the courage of his convictions. In any case, Cruz is not up for re-election until 2024. Sounds like he's not even running for senator since he thinks it's "his turn" to be the GOP nominee for POTUS.

Ever since his self-implosion of his 2016 primary campaign Cruz has demonstrated that he does have the personal political skills, political awareness or personality to be a presidential candidate. Senator is his terminal political office. He should accept that. He can do great things for Texas and the country from that office. Unfortunately, it seems the “presidential bug” is eating him from within. He will tank his senatorship if he’s not careful. (Maybe he already has !)

Maybe Rep Louie Gohmert should consider running for Senator, rather than TX AG.

Completely agree with your statement. Did he choose words unwisely? Yes. But as you said, if you look at his conservative track record, it is strong. If we eat our own for every small mishap, we will have nobody in our corner.

Is he one of our own??? I think he just proved he’s one of their’s.

OR this was all a conspiracy to get Ted Cruz to willingly call protestors terrorists, then get Tucker Carlson to have him on his show, get Tucker Carlson to grill him relentlessly, force Ted to be a stumbling unbelievable Senator (ok that’s not hard), and now Republicans mostly don’t like him.

Yeah...either Carlson jumped on the “get Ted” bandwagon for ratings for his show or he gave Cruz the opportunity to truly admit he was absolutely wrong (which he didn’t), or Ted Cruz screwed up and Tucker Carlson is like the rest of us....wondering when one powerful conservative Senator will step forward and not stop until the Americans sitting in solitary confinement and many unjustly held without reason are free.

Obviously, it ain’t going to be Ted.

Sorry, but it’s not a ‘mistake’, it’s a systemic problem of (rightly or wrongly) appearing to despise his voting base. It’s his job to now show he can ‘grow’ into being a conservative who understands conservative voters. The problem is he keeps going in the wrong direction and it nearly cost us a Senate seat already - and that was BEFORE this screw up and the one before it (flying off to Cancun and then lying about it).

You can move on with the rest of the Bush wing of the GOP. The rest of us wont be forgiving so fast. If ever.

Cruz remains in the Senate because of DJT.

We are not eating our own Cruz is. He deserves now once and for all to pack his bags and find a good cable news show to call his own

I agree with you. Cruz is a 90% solid guy. He made an idiotic statement. He would have gotten away with it too, but Tucker read him the riot act.

He went on Tucker, admitted his mistake, took another drubbing from Tucker, who rubbed Cruz's nose in his mess pretty thoroughly.

Cruz is an exceptionally smart man, but he has moments when he intellectually spazzes out and becomes an idiot for an hour or two.

I sure do get the entire we have to win thing but sure does feel like the RNC sings this mantra over and over again. Then it is up to us conservatives to hold our noses and vote for closet Democrats like traitor McCain or Evil Romney. Hard to keep supporting those who reject our core values. Ted is another W or Romney. No true core values, just pursuit of power.

Per Ted’s Twitter acct...day after 1/6/21...
Ted Cruz
@tedcruz
Devastating. Heidi and I are lifting up in prayer the family of the U.S. Capitol Police officer who tragically lost his life keeping us safe. He was a true hero.
Yesterday’s terrorist attack was a horrific assault on our democracy. Every terrorist needs to be fully prosecuted.

I would have preferred a less mealy mouthed explanation and a simple apology for being way off the mark using the word terrorist. That said, He deserves recognition for being a pretty good soldier. I hope he focuses more on the unsavory FBI involvement in 1/6 and Pelosi's involvement. This should all come out next January. Also, he needs to continue to be a strong advocate for election integrity laws in the states and fighting the BS now being pushed by Dems.

***That is the biggest crock-of-baloney expression. It is always used by people who don’t care what you’re saying and want it to stop. It was used by MoveOn.org when they decided we had heard enough of Bill Clinton’s perjury over sexual harassment so they told us to STFU. Well now it’s time for us to say STFU to that expression.

Criz also blamed the violence in 2016 at the Chicago primary events on Trump supporters instead of ANTIFA and BLM

An 880......huge by today’s measurement here

I had a Cruz for president bumpersticker made in early 2013 for what it’s worth ....a former fanboy was I

Cruz relies on advisors for sit reps too much it seems

Or he’s tone deaf
