It’s over Ted. Go start the bus.
Sadly, he's an asshat.
Said this yesterday and after watching the interview when honestly he did get some sympathy from Tucker, something is happening behind the scenes and it is not good. 11 other Senators potentially could be charged? Do we essentially have the threat of a political purge going on. It would make sense in fact, a lot of sense especially if the ‘democrats’ know the red wave is coming in the fall.
The people they are holding right now are small fish. They really do not care about them other than for whatever theatre they can use them for. They are being used as bait. Always, always remember who they are trying to stop, Trump. Consider for a moment the strategy they are using, so many times we Republicans fail to see their long-game until it is too late.
I said it yesterday and I will say it again, Ted Cruz doesn’t say things on accident. 11 other Senators stood with Cruz on Jan. 6th to question the vote. Imagine losing those 12 to this witch hunt and them falling under the Patriot Act. All of them, their families, their contacts, their aids all removed. Imagine how much power, the chilling effect, a threat against an opposition party like that holds at that level.
I don’t know if Ted Cruz has flipped, but he doesn’t mistakenly get sloppy with wording or phrasing.
From Yesterday:
Something happened behind the scenes we are not privy too.
Cruz knows words have meanings. Sitting here listening to the Clay & Buck show as well and the caterwauling about these people being detained so long without bail or trial dates.
Check the language they use regarding these people and the ones they plan to round-up.
Terrorist
It is really, really important to understand what they are signaling.
Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52) expanded the definition of terrorism to cover “”domestic,”” as opposed to international, terrorism. A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act “dangerous to human life” that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, if the act appears to be intended to: (i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping.
Now somewhere in the back of my mind...I seem to recall they can “detain” these “terrorists” as long as they feel they need too. I am thinking that little nugget was in the NDAA a few years back and likely still there. We old FReepers made a fuss about it at the time.
Right now these people or the few that have been charged so far got slaps on their hands. Did Ted Cruz use terrorist and believe it or was he signaling how the next round of arresting charges were going to be prosecuted? Did he find himself on the receiving end of a threat of “domestic terrorism” charges?
A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act “dangerous to human life” that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States,
(breaking into the Capitol, fighting with police, trespassing) Once they breached the building they can be considered terrorists. If it had been BLM, we would be demanding a similar investigation. What happened last year essentially gave them what they wanted (orchestrated) and the people who participated in it were incredibly stupid.
if the act appears to be intended to: Check
intimidate or coerce a civilian population; check
(ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or check
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping. the now infamous photo of the guy with the zip-tie handcuffs that were conveniently left just laying around at the time.
Days afterward we watched as fencing went up, National Guard called out and every single one questioned to examine for ‘extremist’ views.
Look, I do not care if you like or not what I have written here. But we are moving into a time where things are going to start happening that we do not understand. At times we will not be able to tell friend from foe.
Cruz is angling for two jobs (the Presidency is out): Republican Senate leader when Mitch leaves; Supreme Court Justice when the next Republican takes the White House.
Ted Cruz has consistently called attacks on police "terrorism".

Asterisk mine.
Using dumb words and equating it to a misunderstanding is utter BS. You said it, own it instead of deflecting to ‘people just misunderstood’......kind of hard to MISUNDERSTAND something you literally said, yeah!!?!
Amen!
He also gets credit (imo) for explaining his comment rather than apologizing for it.
Easy enough to fact check his assertion that he uses ''terrorist' consistantly to describe assaults on police.
Srew Tucker!! He’s a slimy sellout who loves the fat paychecks he’s getting from the Murdock twins, ENEMIES OF CONSERVATIVES AND TRUMP SUPPORTERS, more than he does his own integrity. His own network has called the Jan 6th event a terrorist attack.
Bullsh*t. Don't lie and compound the problem.
Typical dem response, YOU misunderstood, not my fault, YOU misunderstood, you’re stupid, YOU misunderstood. Ah, sorry lyin’ ted, you’re a loser and Tucker wouldn’t let you get away with back peddling and making excuses for what you said, nice try though.
Just shut up and go away...
Ted, if you have to explain, you’ve already lost.
he is one of the few that is trying to help the January 6 political prisoners.
/\
Matt and Margery are the only ones who have been to the d.c. gulag trying to obtain fair and humane treatment of the 1/6ers.
Ted would have been a good person to be with them there, he wasn’t.
Calling them terrorists was bad enough, but complimenting c.h.police who aided and abetted imho Ray Epps and false flag team and chatted with dude who took plastic barrier down in their sight was bridge too far.
Which D.C.. prisoner has been charged with assaulting an officer ?
What officer was assaulted ?
I’m extremely pro police, but c.h. police are brown shirts imho.
Sorry ted, no sale.

You knew where Cruz was going when he announced last week that he was going to run for and win the Republican nomination in 2024. He was planning to take down President Trump.
I promise you, he was a part of this group of “insiders” led by traitor Stephanie Grisham organizing to prevent Trump for running in 2024.
In his hubris he believed the #MAGA base would abandon Trump for him. Preposterous. This little cabal led by Grisham imagines they have power and influence. They do not. They are less than nothing.
Donald Trump is the kingmaker in the GOP. Fail to recognize that at you own peril. Trump will either run and win or he will play Obiwan and name his successor who will win.
Ted Cruz will NEVER be president.
Bake THOSE cakes...every Jan 6!
Henceforth he shall be known as...Blind ambition Ted.
Tad Cruz...a tad blind or beltway blind ted...something like that.
Huh? Exactly how is Cruz or any other GOP Senator supposed to "drag off the bench" a sitting federal judge?
If you're speaking metaphorically, the only way to remove him is by impeachment and conviction, and the House - under Nancy Pelosi - is not going to start that process so there's nothing the Senate can dom
If you mean literally -- dragging him off the bench physically -- a Senator has no more right to try to do that than you so. So why don't you go push your way into that federal courthouse, evade the Marshalls, and try to drag that judge off the bench? Or is it also your choice to "do nothing?"
And I'm not defending Cruz's comments - they were asinine. But that is a separate issue from criticizing him for not having that judge "dragged from the bench."
