Observers have noted over 10 Russian ships have now passed under the Crimean Bridge (Kerch Strait Bridge) and entered the Sea of Azov. The ships include: Project 775, the Saratov Project 1171 large landing ships, and Pavel Derzhavin Project 22160 patrol ship
Sea of Azov is east of crimea aligned with the breakaway region of eastern Ukrain. An amphibious assault on the eastern margin of crimea would indicate the goal of establishing a land bridge from there to the separatists controlled areas. More important is watching if amphibious task force comes up opposite of Odessa to the west of crimea.
MSN passing on reports that Putin has issued the attack order and units undergoing final preparations. If this is the case we could be less than 12 hours away from the initiation of hostilities.
