Sources from the port of Latakia confirmed to Syrian television that the Israeli attack on the port at dawn yesterday, Tuesday, was intended for the shipment of Iranian weapons that arrived at the port and were hidden among food products using a commercial ship that hoisted the Panama flag.
Sources noted that the shipment was attacked as soon as it arrived at the container yard at the port and was completely destroyed, noting that three workers were injured.

Latikia was known as Laodikeia (Laodicea) in antiquity. There were several cities by that name. I suppose the Laodikeia mentioned in Paul’s letter to the Colossians (4.16) is a different one.
We were only shown what the Syrian gov wanted us to see... in fact they showed pictures of baby powder and coffee that was bombed, as if to say that the IDF bombed regular shipments.
On the other hand - Syria has closed all their ports for 3 days.... wonder what that is about? Probably the report that the shipment of arms was smuggled in without the syrian gov’s knowledge and that Syria is pissed at Iran is behind this, giving a few days to inspect all their ports to make sure they will not be “surprised”

Syria’s military said Israeli fighter jets fired missiles on the Syrian port of Latakia, damaging containers but without inflicting casualties on December 7. The attacks came after a Syrian politician has claimed that Iran and North Korea are helping the Syrian regime to develop a nuclear reactor.
