The lesson is to stand on your principles no matter what.
Out of six guys in my Dept., three of us didn't want the vax - two relented due to the Federal "mandate" and I stood my ground (even before it became apparent everyone who requested a Religious Exemption would get it).
My manager said he was blown away that I would risk ending a 42-year career on principle.
If one doesn't stand for something, one is liable to fall for anything.
I feel like I'm signing up with William Wallace.
“””My manager said he was blown away that I would risk ending a 42-year career on principle.”””
I am glad you stood your ground.
But, I have great empathy for the employees who are in their late 30’s and have worked hard to advance the corporate ladder in their 15 year career and now face the choice of starting over in a new career or taking the vaxx.
I am retired so these vaxx mandates do not impact me. However, the Totalitarians are probably scheming to restrict Medicare for unvaxxed retired people. Then what would I do?
Thank you. I’m 100% with you. This is a hill to die on for me.
People without it never will understand principle.
My employer, a fortune 500 company hasn’t said a word yet. I’ve worked remotely for years and don’t really have any relationships with many colleagues so I have no idea the feeling in the headquarters office. The subsidiary I work for is in a very blue state so I suspect my stand is somewhat solitary.
I do know the feeling in the warehouses is strongly anti-vax so I suspect the blue collars might be running the show on this.
That said, this is the hill and I won’t be complying. I’m prepared for whatever comes.
What did he actually say?!
"Psalm, I can't believe that you would be willing to sacrifice a career on mere moral principle!"
Regards,
Once masculinity exits stage left, Effeminacy rules the roost.
Masculinity is kryptonite to effeminacy and efforts to root it out eventually elevate to a fever pitch. If masculinity stands pat, effeminacy wanes, slinks away, and disappears. That’s how things should work, and how things usually did work in the U.S. until a tipping point was approached early in the 20th century and reached about halfway through it. After that it seems to have been a relatively rapid downhill slide.
There are others on the base who haven't received the jab, to be sure; at least 50 military and dozens more civilian, but at least in my area, there are only two. Heck, if you really want to boil it down, I'm the only one in my entire squadron standing against the mandate.
So I agree, "If one doesn't stand for something, one is liable to fall for anything."
Can't wait to see how my Thanksgiving get together with family goes today. I've already been asked by my physical assistant sister if I've been "vaccinated," to which I said no. Fun times ahead!
