Sorry, Time, but his is not a supply chain crisis. At its core. it is a transport crisis that is slowing the supply chain. There is not one single nation on the globe that has container ships logjammed off their ports. In fact. other than the 2 ports in LA that are creating the transport problem, there are no other ports in the US that are log jammed. One state’s overregulation should not be allowed to impede interstate commerce to the other 49 states. A Republican President would invoke the Interstate Commerce clause of the constitution citing the crisis to force a temporary suspension of California’s overregulation as to trucking and warehouse spaces specifically affecting those 2 ports and perhaps jawboning union leaders over port union rules that are causing the problem until we clear the logjam. Unfortunately, this administration is union and overregulation friendly and we continue to suffer for it.
Avg age of our Tru k drivers is 55. During the Pandemic, they continued to work even though bathrooms (imagine middle age men denied use of facilities) and restaurants (can’t go through drive in window with18 wheeler) were closed to them. Many have just had enough even without CA Reg.
