You are a dumb dumb thinking all of Africa was a S Hole back in the 70’s.

He grew up the first 15 years or so of his life in a nice suburb of Pretoria. First world country conditions with rule of law and would seem like Southern California with strong morals. The UN was not welcome in SA, in fact were behind the oil embargos of the South Africans. We hated the UN.

BTW, it may come as a shock to you but pre-Carter, Iran was a nice civilized place too.

We know a few BILLIONAIRES from S. AFRICA that made all their money in the 50's, 60's 70's and then got the HELL out in the 80's!
