I think you should get on the butyrate protocol. That’s too much melatonin. At 500N you should be taking 7.5mg mellie for the 66.7:1 ratio. Finding that sweet spot is difficult and you’re already heading for a low ratio. 500N is like a squirt gun putting out a house fire.
I’m not giving up my guitar until I absolutely HAVE TO. And 56 is WAY too young to be giving up!
No search on arthritis, yet. Got totally absorbed into the tinnitus thing. I’ve been on an anti-inflammatory diet for many years now, just to combat it, plus keep weight down. I have a very sedentary job so I watch what I eat, and have been doing various things over the years to keep it at bay. So far, it’s not too bad. Just don’t want it to get as bad as my Dad. My right index finger knuckle just before your fingernail is pretty swollen/bent. Luckily, it bends to the left so I can still hold a pick, or finger pick if I want, LOL! Not much pain, just swelling. Fretting hand is fine, so far, but I’ve felt some tinges now and then.
What instruments do you play? 17strings makes me think 2 guitars and a 5 string banjo.
Haha, nope, but you’re on the right track - my moniker refers to my favorite (multiple) instruments. Precisely which ones those are will remain part of my mysterious online aura. ;) I actually have a whole slew of instruments, though, both plucked and bowed, although the bowed ones have been my bread and butter, so to speak.
Just decided to get daring, and dumped 2000mg of Niacin into my fruit smoothie, instead of the usual 1000. That’s double the most I’ve ever taken at a time! Been 1/2 hour, and I don’t feel any flush or tingle...
HAHA! Either way, I’d love to jam with you. If I ever make it to Florida I’ll have to look you up! Got two brothers and my Dad who live there, so it’s not impossible.
Wild and crazy, you are. After peaking at N3K and returning to N1K as a maintenance level (with butyrate), I no longer seem to need melatonin. I now only get a modest warm feeling with niacin alone, in 24 oz of water. I'm now starting to creep back up, but only 100mg at a time. Now at 0M/1200N.
I haven’t taken melatonin orally for several weeks, only through the skin. Just took 1500mg of N in water after supper. Haven’t taken any butyrate, ever. The bottle my husband ordered arrived today. I’d go sniff it, but he hasn’t opened it yet. ;-)
By the way, after my smoothie today, I worked out more intensely than I normally do. I set aside the usual 10 lb. dumbbells, and upped ‘em directly to 17 pounders (CWIDT?) to see if I could do the same numbers of arm exercise repetitions that I usually do. And I did! Actually, I’ve been trying to see if I can do enough weight training to make me sore the next day, but on that I have yet to succeed, even though I’m (slowly) increasing muscle mass. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow! Meanwhile, look out, MTG! 🏋🏽♀️ (lol, yeah right!)

2x daily for adults (mainly for recovery; butyrate will not need to remain this high) - DO THIS AFTER MEALS (lunch & dinner):
800-1600 mg Taurine

10-15 mg MELATONIN <— evaluate as per 66.7:1 ratio N:M.
(melatonin supplementation may not be needed here, and instead just at night before bed)

3.6-5.0 g BUTYRATE
^ NOTE that a 3.6 g dose corresponds to six (6) separate BodyBio or Butyrex capsules; lower doses can be taken in more mild cases. Remove one pill per day on the third day.

200 mcg Selenium (w/ 1st and/or 2nd dose).
Wait 15-45 min (evaluate when is best).
1-3 g NIACIN per comfort/need
Perhaps start at 500 mg if your first time & not an emergency situation (don’t fear flush; try working up to at least 1 g doses as comfortably as possible)
10-15 mg Melatonin before bed at night. Once you wake up, take 1-3 g niacin.
Very easy to row. Propagates almost like a weed. Get a few in pots from local nursery as starters
re plant in garden with space to expand. Harvesting..just cut off a fat spiky branch and trim off the spikes with a sharp knife ...make a cut along the length of the spiky side and discard a thin strip with the spikes.
Then you can extract the gel...or slice some outer skin and use it as an application..
