Imma go out and cut some aloe and give it a try.
“DO NOT OPEN THE BUTYRATE CAP!”
ROFL! Sorry, laughing with ya, not at ya! That stuff is, er, powerful!
That stuff is, er, powerful!
I hope it’s a passing fad, and goes the way of the other has-been cofactors that have come and gone, but he sounds awfully serious this time! This is where I’m gonna have to draw the line, I think!
And I’ve gotta love how Dmitry writes “Why does no one ever comment on the literature I post?” LOL Ummm, maybe because all that biological jargon looks like a foreign language to 99% of us? I know it does to me!
>I’m afraid of butyrate now after reading all this.<
I’ve found butyrate to be quite helpful, frankly. Does it have an odor? Yes, but I pour the capsules into the bottle’s cap and take them with a glass of water. Originally, I had a way harder time with getting used to the flush.
Butyrate definitely has a positive influence on overall health, at least in my experience.
You can’t smell it through the capsule thank goodness. I was dumb enough to open it.
Keep doing what you’re doing. Kats is focusing on people that had a hard time with melatonin sweet spots who were woefully undernourished. We know the original approach works fine. However, the butyrate will most defiantly help with flushing if taken with the NIATONIN, but not necessarily in the large doses he’s currently recommending.
Again, Kats somehow believes that everyone understands what’s in his head. It’s a sign of what I call “blind genius”. I’ve seen it many times over my career. He’s not all that great at documentation and explanation. A light bulb goes off in his head and he thinks everyone should understand it. He is NOT a good teacher.
Yes. The butyrate helped us in the transition to pistachios, then again transitioning to the 66.7:1 ratio. We’re down to a maintenance dose of 15M/1000N at night and 1000N one other time in the day. I figure the long term effects are going to be just as good as the therapeutic doses.
With no ill effects, I stepped down from 3000N by 500 at a time. I’m now at 1000N, but still with pistachios for the morning dose. Tomorrow I try the 15M/1000N formula.
My butyrate won’t arrive until 10/29. I promise not to mix it with the Halloween treats.
I had my annual physical yesterday, with labs done last week. Total cholesterol is down, LDL (bad) is down, HDL (good) is up, and the cholesterol/HDL ratio is way down.
Since I had no health problems, I had plenty of time to talk to the physician assistant about COVID etc. She had heard vaguely of the potential of ivermectin, but she didn't even know it was a retargeted anti-parasitic. She was surprised to hear about the melatonin/niacin combination, but she confirmed that may improvement in blood lipids was probably due to the niacin. I gave her way more information about ivermectin and Niatonin than she wanted to know.
Health-wise this has been a great year for me. My blood pressure has gone down 20 points thanks to the wolfberry puree I've been drinking, my blood lipids have improved substantially thanks to Niatonin, and my back's feeling great thanks to the new inversion table. It's Getting Better all the time.
Bkmk
Just be my luck if I tried this I’d get a flush at the same time as a hot flash and probably explode! I find it interesting for the anti-inflammation properties though. As a guitar play with arthritis slowly creeping in, I’m looking for anything that doesn’t include big pharma products.
Don't forget about CBD.
The niacin might actually help with the hot flashes. You aren’t going to explode. LOL.
Great news!
Hahahaha! I did purchase what you recommended. Hubby’s gonna think I’m crazy I’ve bought so many supplements in the last year.

I did my first butyrate today — 2 grams.
At the same time I opened the bottle, my wife opened the sliding glass doors to the back yard. I noticed a “scent” that reminded me of a time when I worked in an office building surrounded (at that time) by farmland. Every year the farmer would spread manure on his spread, and the fragrance would dominate the senses for days. Momentarily I blamed the smell on the open door, but then I realized it came from the bottle.
I’m now melatonin-free. I just sip the 1000N + 24ozH20 slowly.
I had a world-class bowel movement an hour after I took the butyrate, but that could be a coincidence. (I know, TMI.)
That TMI is important information. You can learn a lot from poop.
I’m on to maintenance dose of 15M/1000N before bed. I’m pretty sure if I upped my exercise I’d feel better than ever, but I’m lazy. I’m committed to keeping an extra layer through this winter anyway in case it’s needed (and it looks like it will be).
So I mixed some M in aloe juice I made from yard aloe vera. Wow does that stuff sink in fast. I’ll report back on whether it helps sun spots on arms and legs.
40g aloe vera pulp
59g distilled water
1g melatonin
Put it all in the NutriBullet, and voila a 1% melatonin solution!
And proudly proclaim "I'm not sick". Something is working.
