Daniel Wilkinson – A 46 year old US Army veteran in Texas – has tragically and needlessly passed away because no hospital would admit him to perform an emergency surgery that could have saved his life from a highly treatable condition.
“He Loved his country. He served two deployments over in Afghanistan, came home with a purple heart, and it was a gallstone that took him out.” Michelle Puget, Wilkinson’s grieving mother told CBS.

I guess the hospitals know what pays the most.
Hospitals are paid to treat any patient in the inpatient setting according to a DRG. But hospital payment to treat patients in-house is based on the medical necessity of a patient. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sept 27 is still a month away — by then depending on where you are, the surge should be passed. That being said, if there were still high CoVID numbers in your region, I would delay any elective surgery if it were me.
And by the way — you dont understand what the term gaslight means.
Is this even real
This illegal question is completely irrelevant — regardless of immigration status — it is still a body in a bed with a bad disease. I understand what you are saying about the influx of possible illegal aliens (am I allowed to say that) with the disease — but the end of the line is a resource utilized.
Notwithstanding the vaccination question — I find next-door from the very little I have read to be a woke ass leftist website. The reduction of content based on censorship is not surprising and next-door is a crappy site full of harpies who have little else to do but bitch.
You idiots could start by not mandating a useless vaxx which is causing a nurse shortage which in turn causes a shortage in beds.
Again an ignorant statement. You are aware of something called EMTALA and the illegality to refuse treatment. There are things called emergency room and surgical divert when it is unsafe to attempt admission based on resource utilization. And often hospitals are not reimbursed until well after the end of the hospitalization once the course of treatment is done and the DRG established.
You really are something of a fauci style expert in all things — aren’t you?
It is madness.
A complete nonsequiter by a total luddite — go away. You are not even worth answering you are a complete ignoramus.
Be well.
I do not believe you, and although I live in Nevada, I am in an EXCELLENT position to know exactly what is going in a number of large southern hospitals.
I practice in the Southeast region — believe me, dont believe me — it is what we are all seeing in the Southeast — and now with the Hurricane threatening the region — this is going to be a real disaster. No thanks to the dolt mayor of New Orleans.
Well, that’s one thing we agree on.
How much money is the Federal Government handing out for each Wuhan-Flu case these days?
A year ago it was around 15K for just reporting a case and around 35K for a death certificate. With inflation I’m sure the bounty has gone up.
I agree with you. More to this story than they are letting on. With 3 hospitals I’m sure one bed could have been freed up by moving a recovering patient to a recovery or regular room.
I rather doubt your pancreas exploded.
Been there, done that. It is a several days in the hospital on a morphine drip before your gut cools down enough to even have the surgery.
Before that? AMAZINGLY painful. I got to watch the paramedics work on me from somewhere near the ceiling.
I am certain that without the morphine I would have gone into shock and died.
NDE/OOBE Ping.
I think you’re right. We live outside Houston and I really don’t keep up with the numbers. I’ll ask my internist Monday. A friend that lives in our neighborhood in her 50’s passed Thursday from Covid. There ought to be a special place in hell for those who not only have put this virus on the world but have lied over and over about real Covid numbers and how we should live our lives at their command!
