Yes,

Silent Spring, a book full of rumors and speculation, lacking any real science, but very popular in its time is what the banning of DDT was based on.

We all know, government policies and laws “follow the science.” Hahahaha

Meanwhile, Silent Spring is still used by many as their inspiration for why they support some environmental cause... Also meanwhile, DDT is manufactured again and available abroad in many places because it simply works well.

The only thing special about this book Silent Spring, is that it was the entry of “environmentalism” on the political stage. From that point on:

Baby seals
Whales
Spotted owls
Rain forest
BS recycling programs
The coming ice age, which turned into global warming, which morphed into climate change, and now finally the climate crisis.
Remember the ozone hole? What ever happened with that? Hahahaha

Environmentalism is more bullshit than real today, sort of like what happened with Covid.

Sad thing is, there is some grain of truth to most issues. However, by the time political and economic interests are done contorting it for their own benefit, the issue isn’t even addressed. They might make it worse (Cuomo with his plan that old folk homes need to take positive folks back)... The only thing you can be sure of when these issues get traction is that the media will get their viewers, Hollywood will make a movie out of it, politicians will smear their opponent and self promote, and some business will make billions off it.
