And now married 21 years. Maybe her ex abused her.
Permit me to make two points.
1. We don’t know everything that Grant said at that interview. We only know what the gentleman in the video chose to tell us.
2. When it comes to repentance, you are right. It would have been very appropriate for Grant to have mentioned repentance! But such an omission does not mean that she “denied Christ”. It only means that her comments were incomplete, from a biblical point of view. Now, if she had said something like, “Christ said this, and He was wrong.” - that of course would be a totally different story.
As I noted earlier, I know very little about Amy Grant. I am taking an active interest in this thread because it saddens me to see a person called a denier of Christ on very little evidence.
I see something like this in my own life. I have friends who are committed Catholics. I have friends who are evangelicals. Both groups have the same core Christian values. But each group subtlety implies that the other group is not truly Christian. Yes, that saddens me.
Side note: You and I have disagreed on a few things here. But we have remained cordial to each other. And so we can calmly exchange ideas. Thanks.
the prodigal son also expected nothing from his dad but to be treated as one of his servants when he returned. for me the story had many messages and the one I think ignored in this was the message about entitlement.
LOL
“ You obviously don’t know the story. Stoning wasn’t the proper punishment unless she was a betrothed virgin. The law also requires the execution of both parties.
The Bible calls her an adulteress, NOT a prostitute.. Did Jesus tell her “Go, and sin no more” or didn’t he.”

I’m not arguing with someone that doesn’t understand a simple meaning or the English language.
Just to avoid conviction you change things to suit yourself.
Have at it Skippy.
He that is without sin should cast the first stone.
Pretty hard for you to say, isn’t it?
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Mal 1:2 “I have always loved you,” says the LORD. But you retort, “Really? How have You loved us?” ............
Can’t you just hear the sarcasm in the retort? Go love some one else is implied. Being loved by God (chosen) is not an easy path.
Yep. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts us of our sin and brings us to repentance.
Absolutely. Learning from one another is key.
Excerpts are online and the homosexual community praised her for saying “It doesn’t matter how we behave,” Grant continued. “It doesn’t matter how we’re wired. We’re all our best selves when we believe to our core, ‘I’m loved.’
Repentance was never mentioned and it's key to Jesus' message.
So much for: El Shaddai, eh Amy?
as was Judy Garland, as was the show "the Golden Girls"....
After reviewing the video, I completely disagree with the title of the video and the interpretation of what Amy Grant said. It was clearly in the context of Jesus eating with tax collectors, prostitutes and other sinners.
Further, her comments on feeling loved seem to me to advise showing those sinners love and the love of Christ to bring them to God from their sin instead of chasing them away from God by professing hatred toward them.
Is she still married to Vince Gill? He has posed as a strong Christian, too.
Just to avoid conviction you change things to suit yourself.
This isn't a contest. I quoted straight from the Bible, including the law. The story that you used was a setup to trap Jesus. For this discussion the key quote is "Go. And sin no more". Repentance is key to Christs message.
Huh? She ditched her husband and helped break up Vince Gill’s family decades ago. What kind of pathetic Christian is influenced by the fake faith of some other person?
I have Phil Driscoll playing that; awesome!
A LOT of biblical illiterates on this thread, painting Jesus as a sugar-coated sugar daddy who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
He was crucified FOR SOMETHING.
Next up she will announce she is really a man. No faster way to get attention now and get a few more bucks.
Like Robin Williams said, "When Jesus comes back, he isn't going to be Ted Nugent, with the long hair, he's coming back as Charles Bronson, and he's going be [PO'd]"
She started this slide when she desecrated the institution of marriage by getting a “divorce.” It is all downhill from there.
1 Thess 4:1-8 gives a commandment against sexual immorality. After laying it out fully, verse 8 says, anyone who rejects that command has rejected God.
