I checked this morning and there is no movies or TV shows being shown today on D-Day at all. Even TCM which used to be reliable in showing War movies has nothing but crap on today, Paul Newman comedies, among other things.

In the last 2 years I have read a great deal about the war on the Eastern Front. The sacrifices made by the Soviet Army and the atrocities by the Germans is hard reading.
Without those sacrifices D-Day could not have happened and been successful. While the casualties in Normandy were high, the losses on the Eastern Front ran into the Millions. The forgotten part of W.W. II.
