“Ammo shortage is continuing”
90 days ago, 1,000 small rifle primers were selling for $375.
Yesterday, 1,000 small rifle primers were selling for $175.
Only private parties have them.
I have an empty box of 1,000 from a few years ago that’s marked $32.
I still have a few boxes in my stockpile that are marked $7.97.
I was at a gun show an hour and a half ago. The going rate for 9mm was 80cents a round.
Guess it all depends on how you define "ammo shortage". Walked into my favorite 'local gun shop' this week, and they had just about any common type of ammo a guy might want, sitting on the shelves: 9mm, .223/5.56, 7.62x39, .45acp, 12 gauge, etc. Prices are still elevated, but coming down - Midway has M193 for just over 60 cents a round, with free shipping available. So, if you think "ammo shortage" means empty shelves everywhere, I think we're past that. But if you think "ammo shortage" means there's no ammo at rock-bottom/give-away/stack-it-6-feet-deep-in-the-basement prices, well, I guess we still have an "ammo shortage"...
