Just Got the Edict on the Job: Non Vaxxed Need to Wear Masks

So I work for my local county (Upstate NY) and the new county administrator put out the edict as of tomorrow, if you are "fully vaccinated" (TM) then you don't have to wear a mask. All others do need to wear a mask on the job and social distance. Violators will be "disciplined"

One of those things is not like the others, the coronavirus “vaccine” would not have fit the definition of a vaccine last year, so they changed the definition.. It is not a classic vaccine as in a dead, or deactivated virus being injected. It is mRNA therapy.

I feel for you. As a customer I could go to my store mask less. As an employee,I have to wear one. Crazy, no?

The employer is not requiring it as a condition of employment. They are simply saying that if you haven’t been vaccinated you must wear a mask. But this is exactly the same situation I face in my job as a salesman. And it’s very very worrisome. And wrong. Now I have the Scarlet Letter. Everyone knows my private medical info. Customers do too. This will lead to customers saying “I don’t want someone not vaccinated to help me.” And managers saying, quite logically,” I don’t want maskers working for me. They are bad for business.” This a very bad situation. I hope it is declared unlawful.

What a great idea. If someone tells you to do something that risks your health that is not supported by scientific evidence just do it, it’s easier.
There is NO evidence that masks work. Americans are not conditioned to obey. We are conditioned to think and question and to expect the blessings of liberty not arbitrary rules.

Early on, was reasonable to assume Covid was going to be much worse than it turned out. Getting red tape out of the way of vaccine development and allowed* release was important to ensure preparedness should it be as bad as anticipated. What Trump did was good; whether it was necessary in retrospect is largely irrelevant, so long as the preparation was done. Insofar as many want a vaccine, and Trump's leadership made it available in a timely manner, that's great. That many want to force others to take the vaccine is the problem at issue in this thread. Free country, my body, etc. Most here aren't "acting like this is akin to genocide"; that's the straw man narrative you want to impute on others who disagree, just so you can insult them. It's not the getting vaccinated that's the problem, it's the "tell us your private medical decision so we can decide whether to fire you" that's the problem.

My employer, a large healthcare provider, is trying desperately to get 70% of staff “vaccinated”. With only two weeks left to reach their goal and still falling far short they sent out a company-wide email announcing 25 shot recipients will win $5000 each in a lottery drawing at the end of the period.

Coercion much? The lengths these corporations will go to for their kickbacks is astonishing and disgusting.
