The Senate on Thursday passed an anti-hate crimes bill aimed at addressing a surge in attacks on Asian Americans amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The measure, which would create a Justice Department position focusing on the issue and beef up state and local hate crime reporting, soared through the chamber by a 94-1 vote. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) was the only vote against the bill.

And the clowns are going to strut around like they accomplished something.
That illuminates brilliantly the folly of this type of feel good legislation. As an example, we know that it is against the law to stab or try to stab other people. And yet, there are people who couldn't care less and they'll use a knife to assault someone if they damned well feel like it. Similarly, tough laws can be passed to punish people who assault Asians. So, will those laws be enforced when the suspect is black? I'll believe it when I see it.
That's about the size of it. Asian politicians can complain about assaults on Asians, and people start getting nervous and passing laws. When are white politicians going to start complaining about racist assaults on whites? I can answer that. And it's "don't hold your breath."
