The verdict was set up to be overturned. In a just administration of legal jurisprudence, this was a mistrial, subject to emotion, and not fact. George Floyd was a dead man walking when first encountered by the police officers, and judging by his overall physical condition, he probably would have been dead within a week even if his confrontation with the police had NOT happened.

Which is why Derek Chauvin administered a form of euthanasia, not murder.

I suspect Chauvin’s attorneys will be filing an appeal. Still, he will have a rough time in the interim.

I don’t think the Floyd family ever wanted JUSTICE, they wanted revenge. God says Vengance is MINE, I will repay, thus saith the Lord. I feel sorry for them. They could have taken another stand, and realized that their son was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, doing bad things. But they chose to get WHITEY.

The Chauvin decision itself is not a death knell for our country, but the process that led to it surely is.

The only thing that separates the United States from every other government ever formed is the citizens, voluntarily subjecting themselves to the laws of the Constitution.

John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other".

We have long since crossed that bridge, and it is crumbling at it's core.

Too many people that believe there is no God and only they count.

No moral compass, no absolute right or wrong, then the USA is just another failure of man.

Thus, regardless of how we emotionally respond to the images of Chauvin holding his knee on George Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes until he expired

Uninformed just like the public. His knee was on Floyd's back most of the time. Problem is, all most people saw was a single frame still photo or 30 seconds of the 9 minute video(s). The State's own use-of-force expert even agreed that Chauvin did not use excessive force

Cops are already leaving the profession in droves. Many won’t respond to calls involving drugs, blacks, or civil violence of any kind. Medical issues are the worst to be involved with and present the highest risk to the cop. You can only serve and protect if the public protects you in return.

Re: "holding his knee on George Floyd's neck for 9 minutes"

7 minutes and 46 seconds, actually.

Also, the autopsy found no injuries or bruising to Chauvin's mouth, tongue, throat, trachea, neck, or back.

Floyd's death certificate states that cardiopulmonary arrest was the cause of death.

The CDC explicitly states that cardiopulmonary arrest cannot be a cause of death unless it is preceded by a clear sequence of medically identifiable events.

The coroner's scientific solution to that problem was to claim that George Floyd went into cardiopulmonary arrest because his "body just couldn't take it anymore."

Did I forget to mention that Floyd swallowed a fatal dose of fentanyl just moments before he was arrested?

Yeah. If I’m a cop why would I try to arrest a black assailant now?

Derek Chauvin is guilty of making all police officers (especially White police officers) look like violent, racist murderers. Law enforcement officers are going to have hell of time doing their jobs. Thanks Derek.
