I DuckDuckGo’ed & googled my fingers to the bone and nowhere could I find a COVID-19 vaccine that, in its design, used the spike protein for another type of coronavirus instead of the spike protein of the COVID-19’s virus.

Here are a couple of articles on the SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19) virus whose spike protein was used in the design of the Moderna vaccine.

I get the funny feeling that you don't even realize you contradicted yourself in the very same post AND asnwered your own question.

On the bright side, you don't have to duck-duck-go that one anymore.

Read your above two paragraphs again (real slow) and see if you can figure out why you're stupid.

I'll be back later, got gym class. Mile day.

I guess I’m missing it but perhaps you can explain. Before YOU explain my stupidity to me, perhaps you can confirm to us dummies that YOU understand that SARS-CoV-2 is the scientific name of the VIRUS that causes the DISEASE COVID-19? You’ll note that, as a courtesy to those who might have been unaware of that FACT, I parenthetically stated that.

Now, where did I contradict myself? Thank you in advance.

And, by the way, here’s a link supporting my assertion that the disease and the virus that causes it have different names:
